'71 Chevelle Convertible Trans Crossmember
Hello,
I have done a lot of searching and haven't really found an answer that I am looking for. I purchased a GForce crossmember and the perch shoves the transmission case into the floorboard. The car has an LQ4 with an LS style 4L60E and Dirty Dingo motor mounts. Anybody have any luck modifying a stock one, or know of another brand that would work fairly easily with minimal modifications?

I used the stock crossmember in my 69 convert with LS1 and 4L60. Had to move crossmember about 2 inches, but for the life of me, I can't recall if it went back or forward. I think there were already holes in the frame rails for different trans options.

I used the stock crossmember for the TH400, sectioned the center and dropped the mount 2". This gave me plenty of clearance for the exhaust and created proper drive shaft angle.

Thank you for the offer, I am not sure if there is a difference but I believe there is. There is a convertible frame under this car and it isn't a convertible. I believe they use a shorter crossmember. I will hit you up if I need yours, really appreciate the offer and all of the help.

Here are a few pics of the current crossmember. We are having another one manufactured with the mounting pad a little lower. Does anybody know if there is a shorter transmission mount that might buy another 1/4 to 1/2"?
I will update again as soon as we get the crossmember.

Mine is a 1970 convertible frame with a coupe body on it...I am running a ls3 with a 4l80e using the stock location holley adapter plates. This is what I did to modify the stock cross member to work with the 4l80e.... http://www.chevelles.com/forums/show...390327&page=14
