Default 1970 Bug Mid Engine (engine build pg15)

So I will start off by saying, yes I know this is a LS forum. But I am going to share will all of you my Ecotec powered Bug. Sure it will only have 400hp which is absolutely nothing impressive for a V8 but it is only a 4 cylinder! My original plan was to drop a mild LS2 into the middle of it. After doing some research on what transaxle I would use, I decided that I didn't want to spend 5k on one. So I decided to go with a 2.2 Ecotec that I already had and a FWD transmission from a Cobalt. I have done all the work to the car by myself in my garage. I have never built a complete car before but have been building engines for the past 8 years. My welding skill are good but not great. I can TIG a lot better then MIG. So all the important parts like a-arms were TIG welded. This is a complete custom design that I thought up in my head and was drawn out on paper. I did all my research on angles, bump steer, bracing and all that non sense. Anyways on to the pictures....

Engine

2.2 Ecotec
- Stock crank
- Manley turbo tuff rods
- JE forged pistons 9:1
- REV stainless valves
- Manley dual springs
- Comp cams
- ARP Head studs
- Home made intake
- Turbo ZZP Bullseye

Pictures coming soon!

There's potential for a lot more from that 4-banger! Post the pix, sounds like an awesome swap!
