Default 79' Malibu 2 DR LSA-L92/4l60e swap

Just picked up this 79' Malibu, been looking for one for a long time, very hard to find a nice example out here..... Plan is a 08' hummer L92 long block with a cam and a semi-built 4l60e and 4000ish stall (and maybe some spray )... car is pretty clean and mostly original, had a 406 SBC and turbo 350 when i got it which i gave back to the seller. Kinda funny part, it was bought new from the dealer i work at now in 79' by a school teacher, use to see it drive around all the time.

The CTS pan with the spohn mounts is a great fit.

That would make a nice candidate for sure, this one has 69k on it, trying to get some time to clean the motor up and get it test fitted. Need to pick up LS3 intake, cam, lifters, springs and a stall to get the ball rolling... Then on to the other pricey stuff like headers, harness and fuel system...

Did some test fitting the other night, Spohn LS conversion frame mounts are not a bolt in for the g-bodies.... which it doesnt state at all on thier site.... only got two or three bolts to line up and mounts were way off.

Called Spohn today and was told to bolt mounts on engine first and then set it in and mark hole locations that need to be drilled.... kinda wish i would have just done the conversion plates for the OE SBC clam shells....

Jegster crossmember also didn't fit well at all, had to use a come along to squeeze the frame rails together a 1/2" to get bolt holes aligned.

Holley is coming out with a whole new engine mount system for g-bodies. I'd look into that...

Please share side shot pics that show the amount the collectors drop below the frame and their angle relative to it as it will be helpful to others reviewing your install. Looks like you're making good progress.
