145 amp truck alternator to fox wiring
I have read so many different and conflicting ways to wire a 145 amp truck alternator with fox wiring .
I already have the wire going to the car side of the switch but what else do I need to use in the four pin of the truck alternator ?
Thanks David

Wiring one of these alternators doesn't get much easier. One of the pins on the four pin connector goes to the PCM to turn on and off the alternator. The large terminal on the back goes to the starter / battery.
If you don't have the PCM running the engine that is where things get a bit more difficult. Without the PCM, the alternator needs something to command it on when voltage is low. I believe the circuit is really simple but I always run a PCM so I never cared.

Terminals b & c are the only ones used. B is brown and goes to the charge indicator light in the dash. C is a gray wire, which is the field wire that would have originally gone to the pcm to excite the alternator. Connect this to a 12v+ switched source. Thats all there is to it

I have a DR44G with 4 pin regulator to eventually go in my mustang. I bought it off a guy on here. After I got it he told me he sold it because he was using a Holley Dominator that wouldn't control the alt. That was great since I will have a Holley too. Anyway, I met 590 Challenger on Yellow Bullet, he helped me with research on the DR44G w/4 pin reg. He said he talked to the people that make the regulator and they said one wire (from switched 12v with charge light) to the L pin (pins on voltage regulator are labeled PLFS) would excite alt and would output 14+ volts.
590 Challenger also said the 2 pin regulator will not operate properly without PCM input.
