72 Nova dead stock LQ9 331 RWHP!!
Just came home from Champion Motors in Toronto who just completed the swap on my 72 Nova.
I could not believe the numbers this thing put down. 331hp and 380lb-ft with nothing more than a tune, headers, duals, and a decent air filter. It even has the stock truck exhaust. Barely had time to drive it so far tonight but man...what a ride.
Waaay better than the 4.8 that I originally was going to use and ended up seizing after running 30 seconds.
Enjoy:
Now to get out there and put some miles on it.

Kinda confirms this:

And the sensation I get when I hit the gas pedal.

Great minds think alike.
I've got an LQ9, exhaust, Richmond 6 speed, 3.08 posi rear with stock wheels and tires on my 68 vette. Plan was for cam, L92 heads, etc. But the engine with my current combo will already over drive the stock tires.
I'm leaving mine pretty much stock.

This is exactly what I was thinking when I got the results. I'm going to have to go back and review the part II of that article and see what the cam was that they used. I'm tempted at some point to go L92 heads/cam, but with a peg leg rear axle and 215 tires that I've got now, I will probably work on traction first.

Sounds about right for a well tuned stock LSx. My stock 99 LS1 with only CAI and Headers made 330rwhp and 341rwtq... considering its a 5.7L vs your 6.0L.. your TQ numbers should be greater.
I drove in and 1st pass was just about 300rwhp.. tuner found another 30rwhp more.. so.. 330rwhp is about 390ish flywheel HP.
I have since installed a 03 LS6 cam and springs.. but have not retuned it. It seem to be just find without it.. granted I most likely am leaving some on the table. But I am ok with that right now... working on shaking the bugs and find tuning my Nova right now anyway.
