Hooker swap stuff was poorly engineered for my Fbody and didn't fit. Hooker acknowledges the mistake. I would go with a less expensive option if I had to do it again. Your call.

The subframe of your 2nd-gen Firebird has a different engine mount bolt pattern layout than a 2nd-gen Camaro and requiring you to drill holes in a different location than a Camaro guy has to makes the Hooker products poorly engineered? I don't get it.

Hoping to not have the same issues, don't need any rubbing issues

You won't, the design of the squarebody components is solid. Holley management worked something out to his satisfaction.

Wish I could help you on that one, but I don't have any interaction with any of the non-Hooker production departments.

don't feel bad I haven't been able to contact anyone who actually can help yet. All I know is that having an intake on back order for over 4 months can't be good for business

I can agree on that for sure.

I guess if I have these swap parts before the intake, I will have to go another route

I would do the same if I had a schedule to keep.

I understand the 1 7/8" SS headers and the 3" exhaust may not be physically available yet but my parts guy told me that the cross members show on BO at the moment.

A wouldn't actually consider it a backorder as the first production run has not been completed and delivered by our supplier yet. I had a manufacturing issue with the pre-production sample that was sent to me by our supplier (they welded one of the frame rail mounting feet on backwards), so I've had to work with them to get it corrected. These types of things are typical for new parts, but it has pushed the deliver of the crossmembers back another few weeks from my last posted update.

I understand its out of your control but it doesn't make a whole lot sense for Hooker (as a business) to offer part numbers and pricing when parts are simply not availble for up to several weeks. Just disappointing for someone who is waiting on them to finish a build and enjoy it. Why make parts availble when they are not availble.

I agree that the process does sound a little detached from the needs of the customer, but it's structured the way it is in order to give the distributors/resellers of our products the appropriate amount of time to get all the product information loaded into their systems to be able to take an order for you. That process in itself takes a few weeks, so even If we were to have the products on the shelf and they didn't have the SKU's loaded in their system you'd have no way to make a purchase in that scenario either. It's not an exact process and I can assure you that Holley management wants these new products on the shelf faster than you the user does. I can definitely understand if your schedule leads you elsewhere for sourcing your swap parts as I've done the same myself in the past when I couldn't wait for one part or another. I'm restoring a 1979 squarebody myself at the moment and have chosen to wait for the crossmember and the exhaust system to become available as there's just nothing else out there that comes close to providing the same design quality, fitment and ground clearance that I can see anywhere else.

I am curently in the same boat, waiting on these parts and a hi-ram to get mine back on the road but from the reasearch I have done, this is the best option. For now I'm willing to wait for a better product opposed to doing it all over again for a third time.

Sunday 4/19 update- the first production run of the 3" exhaust systems were completed last week (both the dual side exit and the dual rear exit versions) and boxed up, which means they'll show up in the system as being available within the first couple of days this coming week.

Did you place your order on the Holley website, or through a reseller such as Summit Racing?
