For your first time, I would recommend getting a complete drop-out with engine, trans, wiring harness, ECU, and all accessories. Find a salvage yard that does this regularly, so they know what you need. Little things like exhaust flange and transmission yoke sometime get forgotten, and are hard to find later on.

Next...send your harness to one of the vendors on here, like BP Automotive, who will rewire your harness.

Last.....Plan on finding a local tuner who has experience with LS swaps. They do have their quirks, and sometimes need more time than a "canned" tune.

Good luck.

Not sure on that. I don't mess with wiring at all. It's too time consuming, in my opinion, to remember all of the variations.

Probably. I have never used them, but I know they are one of many mentioned on here. Most will remove VATS, if you have it. But you still need a local tuner to really get it right.
