Emission equipment 2004 & 2006 Chevy Trucks
Hey all! Installing a 06 L33 5.3L in a 52 Chevy truck. I need to get emission equipment that would have been on the truck my engine came out of. I found a 2004 CC 5.3 that is being parted out. Would anyone be able to tell me if the 04 parts are the same that would have came on the 06? I'm new to the LS stuff and am not up on the names of all the parts I should be salvaging if they are compatible.
Thanks to all that can help.

are you in a smog check area cause most people get rid of that stuff. I dont think 06 had much. 4 oxygen sensors, 2 exhaust convertors, charcoal canistor and lines. couple solenoids on engine I think.

Ya I'm in Ontario, Canada. I have to have everything the 06 engine and truck had installed on it from the factory. It would be nice to know everything I need to get off the 04 and if it is compatible with the 06.
Thanks for the reply!

I gotta have all the emission stuff that came on the 06 truck installed on the engine going in the 1952. Just have to figure out what came on the 2006 and get them off of a 04 parts truck is they are compatible.

Thanks aknovaman! Glad to hear they are the same. The VIN# 1GCEK19B16Z279215 if that helps. As far as I can tell. The 06 came with the charcoal evap and fuel tank pressure sensor, cats, o2 sensors before and after cats 4 total.

Thanks again aknovaman! The 2006 donor truck the engine came out of was an extended cab 4X4. The 2004 truck that is being parted out that I can get the emission parts off of is also an extended cab 4X4. What are the differences if the chassis are different?
I guess my biggest concern is that the emission parts off of the 04 will be compatible with the 06 engine and the ECM. I plan on getting an ECM from Blackbear Performance and have Justin tune it.
My truck is actually a 51 (vent windows and turn down handles) but the ownership has it as a 52. It is a 3 window. I have installed 96 C4 Vette front and rear (D44) suspension in the stock frame.
Cheers!

Thanks tfi. I've heard of both. Called Champion and they gave me some advice. They had no problem answering my questions. Said to not worry about the evap canister and such. Said they have vehicles out with no cats and the road side emission ****'s have given them no problems.
Just to run the cats and I'd be fine.
