Default 95 gt ls 5.3 turbo swap!~~

So I decided I always wanted a sn95, love the big and little look they have. I also decided I wanted to make 600rwhp to start and go from there without spending a butt load of money. I picked up this 95 gt rolling chassis and it began.

So far here is what I have and what I payed and I will update this as I go a long.

95 gt rolling chassis - 600
5.3 long block out of a 2000 silverado 1500 - 750
2 th400 transmissions - 250 ( sold one for 200 ) - 50
Chevy Performance oil pan kit - 150
buddy hooked me up with a ls1 harness, ecu and PTC 10" 3800 stall - 500
upr mild steel front end ( k member, a arms, coil overs, conversions plates and 4.6 mounts ) - 730
Heads cleaned, vavle job, assembled - 300
Tick Performance stage 2 turbo cam - 300
BTR Dual valve spring kit - 240
Alper Studs - 130
moreli lifter - 220
ls9 head gaskets - 100
timing chain - 45
oil pump - 60
hardened pushrods 7.400" .080" wall - 140
on3performance 86-93 lsx swap kit w/ upgrade to 76mm and 4" race core, turbo blanket, 1:1 ratio fpr - 2200 roughly +/-

My goal with this is to be able to drive it to and from the track and run 9s, I want to try and hook on the street too though not just a track queen as it will mostly be used on the street but timed at the track to judge where it sits.

I am sure I am forgetting stuff but I will continue to update this original post as I go a long with prices etc

So, i guess you know now that those `94 -`98's can be had for small money. When you delete everything like Radio, ABS, airbags, back seats, heater plenum etc. they start to get real light, I v'e got my `94 down to 2800+ lbs. without me.

Yep yep. What I am curious about is what are people doing to get traction above 10psi ? seems like everyone just blows the tires off on the street. Is anyone actually making over 600rwhp and putting it to the ground on the street?

This thing had tons of carbon build up on, cleaned it up for the most part, had some trouble getting the balancer off, going to have to get a different puller. Took the truck water pump off and going to be putting on the car one. I might go ahead and switch to a ls1 intake and fuel setup I am not sure. We also dropped the heads off to a local guy to clean them up, do a valve job and going to have my valve train parts sent to him for him to assemble it all for 300 bucks

Some progress, ordering my entire upr front end suspension this friday. Tubular mild steel k member, coil over kit, foxbody tubular mild steel a arms, billet caster camber plates and 4.6 solid mounts with adapters for the ls motor.

I have a question about upgrading to the ls2 timing chain
Will this kit work on my 5.3 SLE-55003 summit part number

Or do I need just the chain?

Update:

Upr stuff still has not shipped out, they have not received my parts back from powder coating yet. I did receive these new morel lifters from a user on here today.

I also got the passenger side harness and ecu completely out. Trying to figure out how I am going to run the ls harness through the firewall and where I am going to mount the ls computer. Looks like I will have to cut into the firewall.

I am going to mount the computer where the Ford EEC was, it fits there. Also, use the hole in the right side firewall, where the Ford wiring went through. Should be the same, mine is a 2000 GT.

If you dont mind not having a passenger side airbag you can hide it behind there

I would like to but it def will have to be opened up because the main connectors that plug into the ecu on the ls harness are not going to fit through that hole.
