minimal GTO harness w/ e40 pcm
I have a ls2 from a gto with an e40 pcm and oem harness. i will be using a switch panel for igniton, fans, and fuel. dont need gauges or A/C. just want minimum to make car run. im wanting to remove whats not needed from the harness any help or writeups would be great.

My main problem is I can't find harness info to power the coils and pcm for a gto harness. I have 4 wires at then of my harness that was powered through the headlight harness on the gto but I don't k ow what wire is what.

basically gm used pink and some orange for hot wires. orange out of pcm plug is constant 12v battery power for pcm. then pinks on with key and during cranking. mass air flo, tranny connector, 2 oxy sensors, 8 injectors. 2 computor on off key, i tied the 4 injectors on each side together into 1 wire the run the 2 wires to 10amp fuse. same with oxy sensors 10amp, pcm 10amp, mass air flo & tranny plug to a 10amp fuse. You can do a universal fuse panel or single fuse holders dont matter but mark everything well. fuel pump needs a relay. pin 86 a ground. the fuel pump out wire from pcm pin 85, pin30 goes to positive on battery, pin 87 goes out to pump. most relays are marked with those numbers. C101 Wires Should Be As Follows:
Pink/Lt Blue = Reverse Lockout
Black/Red = Ground
Lt Green = Left Side Coil Injector 12v
Dk Green = A/C Clutch
Red = Right Side Coil Injector 12v

Brendan from lt1swap does a nice walk through for pinning out your power wires as well. Check it out on his facebook page. Its not your exact harness, but for me this helped it make more sense when I was doing my L76 harness.

Additionally, the GTO E40 harness is somewhat of a different animal in that it is a Holden (Australia) product and the coloring convention is different from most other GM produced LSx harnesses.
That being said, it's actually a pretty easy harness to modify. All of the power comes into the harness through the C101 connector and the C206 connector.
I've already indicated the C101 pinout above.
The C206 pins are as below:
*Note: This is from a 2006 GTO Manual Trans harness. There are additional C206 wires in the Automatic Harness.
- Pin 1 - Brown looped to Pin 4 (CAN Bus)
- Pin 2 – Black - goes to C3 Pin 49 (Fuel Tank Pressure Sensor)
- Pin 4 - Brown looped to Pin 1 (CAN Bus)
- Pin 5 - Brown w/Black looped to Pin 12 (CAN Bus)
- Pin 7 - Brown w/Blue - reverse light sensor
- Pin 10 – Dk Green - into the horn connector and Black/Red (Ground) out of the horn connector.
- Pin 12 - Brown w/Black looped to Pin 5 (CAN Bus)
- Pin 13 – Pink - merges with other pinks (O2 sensor power)
- Pin 15 - Lt Green w/ Black - goes to C3 51 (A/C Comp. Control Relay ECU output)
- Pin 21 – Yellow - reverse lockout
- Pin 22 - Lt Green - reverse light sensor
C206 Pins 1,4, 5 & 12 (CAN Bus) can be eliminated if you're not utilizing a GTO BCM (Body Control Module).
C206 Pin 2 can be eliminated if you're not running EVAP.
C206 Pin 10 can be eliminated.
The remaining are O2 power, A/C, reverse lockout & reverse lights and should be self explanatory.

Here's the pinout for the blue 56 pin C1 (sometimes called J1) connector. This pinout list and the pinouts of the C101 and C206 listed above are everything you'll need to make your LS2 GTO harness stand-alone and functional.

so these are the wires that come out of the harness around the maf. they usually go to a plug that goes to chassis harness for power im thinking. but idk what they are. and as far as c1/j1 blue connector i have removed everything i dont need. only ones im not sure about are

LT1Swap is the default suggestion for LSx wiring information and rightfully so. But that site does not support the E40 PCM.

I think you want all the voltage wires. The relay control wires is dependent on how you're wiring up your system. Are you still going to use relays for the starter, fuel pump, and engine main power? Even with a switch panel, I'd think you'd want to run relays, in which case, the relay control wires should be useful. These are the signal wires to the relay, to power the relay, which then powers the respective circuits. Back to Lt1swap, I found his section about wiring up a fuse block and relays quite helpful. I'd never wired my own fuse block. Its not a direct step by step for your engine (or mine) but the concept should be applicable. http://www.lt1swap.com/fuseblock_obd2port.html
