Default 96 t56 Lt1 to ls2 swap

Hello was wondering if anyone has swapped an ls2 into there 4th gen camaro. I can get my hands on an ls2 motor out of a gto and was wondering besides the k member, bell housing and input saft on the t56 is there any thing else that I may need? I will be getting the whole harness and my car already has the obd2 port on the car. Thanks

Not sure about mating the stock GTO harness to your car. Might look into getting a harness made. I do know that the knock sensors are mounted on the sides of the block opposed to the ls1's valley cover. Also the cam sensor is mounted on the timing chain cover where the ls1's is mounted on the back of the block. It should have a 24x reluctor wheel, but I would double check first.

Thanks yeah I was thinking that would be the only real issue is mating the harness to the car. and possibly the steering shaft clearance on the headers

Looked at your first post again. Are you getting the t56 also or are you converting yours? Also you need a Ls1 steering rack, knuckle, and Ls1 oil pan. If using Fbody headers you should be fine with clearances.

It can be converted. I think it will need a mid plate and input shaft if not more stuff. You should call D&D or Tick, they know t56's.

Thanks I'll definitely give them a call once winter is in full swing. I planned on doing the whole swap during winter and have it finished up by spring.

The GTO engines are 24x but do use a DBW setup and the E-40 computers. Speartech can rework your GTO harness for you and repogram your computer for a standalone swap. They actually run your harness and ECM on an engine after they rework it and hook up a tech2 scan tool to verify there are no codes and that the ECM and wiring is done correctly.
