Default 1950 F-1 5.3/60e swap complete

Hey everyone. I figured after lurking on here for a long time I would finally post up and make a thread on the truck me and my grandfather built. The truck is a 1950 Ford F-1 and when we got it it had the front suspension from a 77' Lincoln Continental along with the 460 and c6 from the lincoln. After 7 years of slowly redoing the whole truck when we had time we got it done and couldn't get the 460 to run cool and no matter what wheels and backspacing we tried we couldn't get the front tires not to stick out of the front fenders and rub on every little bump. So 2 years ago we started collecting parts and managed to find another stock chassis to put it on. So we took the stock chassis and put a Speedway Mustang II kit on it and dropped in a completely stock 5.3 and 60e from a 2002 Tahoe using c5 motor mounts and c5 manifolds I v-banded and ended up using an explorer 8.8 out back. It's been on the road for about 4 months now with the new set-up and is a blast to drive. I guess that's about it, I'll let the pictures do the rest of the talking.

The day we got the truck.

Well that is a slick little truck. Good job. There is an elegance in simplicity, and your truck is a perfect example of it.

Thank's. We were trying to keep it as simple as we could. I still have the original stainless that goes on the hood and grill to put on once I get the clips for it.

Thank you.

Here's a little idle video of it. My phone mic likes picking up the fuel pump more than anything so it's hard to get a good video of it.

Neat build - and it's very cool that you got to do it with your grandfather! You might get a bit of grief from the Ford purists, but don't let their "heartburn" distract you from getting enjoyment out of it.

One thing that I have to mention though - unless you have some sort of "cowl-induction" that I didn't notice (that's bringing cooler air in), you're really going to want to change your air-intake location. Pulling it from the top-rear of the engine compartment is just going to feed hot air into the engine. At the very least, that's going to make the ECM pull timing, & will also give you reduced air density/less power. If you can find a way to route it so that it can pull outside air into the engine, it'll run better.

Good luck, I hope you guys get to make a lot of cool memories with your truck!

Thank's Cheese Weasel. The IAT's with the filter with it where it is actually aren't that bad going off the ultragauge I'm running, and there's no easy way to move the intake with the clutch fan.

No big updates lately but I got all the trim on and changed out the headlights to a set with clear turn signals. And another note, I am working on getting everything on the truck sorted to take it on the 2017 Hot Rod Power Tour.
