Default Looking for cylinder head coolant passage plug.

Anyone have a spare cylinder head coolant plug laying around after their temp sender adapter install? My machine shop took both plugs out when they cleaned my heads and now they don't have them. I went to my local GM dealer and they don't list it. I only need one and I'll buy it.

I thought you were in the states. If you want you can just go to the hardware store and get either a hex head or an allen head all you need a 12Mx1.5 bolt of a short lenght it will fit in just fine and you save yourself some hastle. when you put it in put it with some teflon tape to make it seal better.

Exclamation DON'T do it..............

Do not use a regular bolt in place of the plug, as the plug uses a pipe threading, which is a tapered thread. If I were you, I would check out a salvage yard, there must some type of import engine with the proper size you need. Good luck.

The plug in the head is not pipe thread. As stated before it is a 12mmx1.5 straight metric thread.

yes. it uses a bronze sealing washer. a short 12-15mm length bolt should do the trick. if you cant find one that short, run the stick of a set of calipers down in the hole and check for depth.
a screwdriver and a sharpie marker works too!
good luck.

Thanks for the responses. I'll try the bolt with some teflon tape. I hope it seals!
