XAT wasnt going to help me but from all the SR swaps we have done and RB swaps we kinda already knew what wires to tap.

are you the one that registered on tampa racing asking for a free detailed how to?

business is business, they weren't not helpful, they were being a legitimate business offering a legitimate service.

not trying to be a dick, although this is probably sounding as one, but im not trying to be.

I understand they are trying to run a business. Im not mad at them but I already have a swap done I figured they could have told me to confirm my suspicions.
They did give me some good info on the A/C which was cool.

ya everyone i talked to was morons. dakota had no clue about the 240 one claimed the 240 was 2kppm another said 8kppm. Hinson just claimed that its always a grounding issue. I just went round and round with both of them. kinda wierd to after i tapped into the right wires it still would do anything til the dip switches were right. but owell.

I was thinking about emailing dakota and giving them a how to write up to help future customers. i've had my car going since july and been trouble shooting this ever since. but then again i suck at reading wiring diagrams but i'm getting better.

i'd like to personally thank ls240sx and PXRdrift thanks again guys.

ls240sx you got the a/c hookedup in ur car? thats going to be one of my next projects this coming spring. how hard is it? anyone got a write up?

Not yet but from what XAT told me it should be easy since the 240sx and LS1 use the same style High Low switch. That is the biggest problem is the high low switch. If those dont work the ECU wont turn the compressor clutch on.

Ok perople who have working speedos I'm at the point Im read to power everything up but I want to clarify some things.

When you say Out put and sensor ground does this mean both R/Y and R go to output and then ground wire to the sensor ground?
Or does this mean use the - signal wire on sensor ground and + on output?

Feed back fast as possible would be much obliged. Also which out put should I use output 1 or 3 and what switch pattern? I need this to be spot on when I install it because Im putting the box behind my cluster.

umm.. one into sensor ground one into output 1 worked for me. I'm not sure which color i put where but i don't even know if it matters. I would think it doesn't. but I'm not sure.

1- on
2- on
3- off
4- on

output one is preset with dip switch #3 off it is 8000ppm ac
pxrdrift uses output 3 i'm not sure what he did. if you had dip switch 3 off it would rear 4000ppm ac so it would only be half as fast aka. your going 40mph it's showing 20mph.

The A/C is simple because all of the sensors use the same ground switches so all you need is 240sx lines and LS1 lines. Adapt the compressor fittings from the LS1 to the 240sx. Then wire as needed for the sensors and your done.

Ive noticed the Speedo is off by about 5-10 mph do you just adjust this with the buttons? Also do you adjust for ever speed or just once? Lastly is this adjustment stored?

Sometimes you can find a deal on an aftermarket cluster ($400-500 used, $600-800 new) and it's solves all the problems (even controls electric fans)...

meh, every Racepak install I've ever seen looks like garbage. I dont think you can make them look good personally. I was thinking stack cluster but it's not worth the $$$ to me. I like love the stock gauges + autometers and keeps the sleeper look too.

Anyone have a write up on how to hook up the temp gauge? i know it's only 2 wires but i can't remember how to do it for the life of me.

Temp gauge you just put the factory sender into the coolant cycle on the hot side. Then run your lead to the Cluster. I dont believe it should require anything more.

After looking into it. It is a single wire hook up for the coolant temp sensor. You run it directly to the cluster.

you have to tap into the sensor on the driver side cylinder head. but you can't cut it because the ecu needs the temp sensor doesn't it? i can't remember i read that awile ago. i would think it needs it for the fans. so just tap into the yellow/black wire and run it to the back of the cluster?

No youll have to install the factory 240sx coolant temp sensor somewhere else. Most people have the water pump tapped and install it there. Or you can put a metal coupler in line of the radiator upper hose and tap it there.

The coolant temp sensor for the gauge on the 240sx is a single spade sensor and can be bought for 10 bucks at any local auto parts store. Just make sure you get the gauge sensor and not the ECU sensor. The ECU sensor is a 2 wire square connector.
