99 s10 ls1 t56 tranny to a late model 350
Im getting ready to do a v8 swap in my s10. I already have the motor and tranny but i have one problem. I have a late model 350 out of a 98 chevy. It is a hydralic roller motor and for the trans i have a 02 t56 out of a camaro. I know they wont just bolt up and im good to go so whats an easy way to bolt them together. Also my s10 is already a 5speed pickup so do i need to get a different slave to fit the ls1 tranny? can i use the s10 hydralic linkage? any help would be greatly needed. thanks

I'm pretty sure the slave will work with the t56 but I don't know about the 350 and the t56 working together. I'm no expert though so I'm sure someone else out here knows more about that

The input shaft on the LSx T56 is 0.400" longer than the input shaft on a late model 350. The bellhousing should bolt up, but the input shaft will stick out too far forward. The easy solution would be to make a 0.400" thick spacer plate to go between the engine and trans, but I don`t know what you would do for a clutch. I am sure there is a solution for a clutch out there, but I am not very well versed in manual transmissions.
What about selling/swapping for a LT1 T56? That should be a bolt on for a late model 350.

im pretty set on using the ls1 t56. what direction would i have to go for a clutch and a flywheel? if i make a .400" think spacer plate for the bell housing then couldn't you just make one for behind the clutch?

You would just have to make a spacer that goes behind the slave cylinder... ATS makes the spacer(s) and sell them in a kit with all the mounting hardware...

That's it right there. For connecting an LSx t56 to old SBC engines. They sell it for $90+shipping. I have one I'd sell for a little less if you're interested in it... I bought it to put an Ls2 T56 in my 68 Chevelle behind my old 350, but decided to just go with an LSx style engine, so I don't need it now...
