Thanks jim, It is getting there but still a little ways off from where it should be, it has been 117 to the 1/8 . I guess I might need to actually lean on this thing to see what it can do.Last night it did:

10.2(10psi)
9.66
9.6x
9.51
9.53

As far as I know the fairmont still holds the record for the fastest 1/4 pass for a completley stock ls motor ? Lots of guys have gone way fast in the 1/8 but thats different. It is a lot easier to keep one alive for only that short of a time rather then a full 1/4 mile pass.

Out fk'ng standing.....I have an 89lx hatch that I have owned now for 12 years and all it took was owning 1 LS1 camaro to make my mind up of what I wanted to do. One of my buddies started a 5.3 TT build and decided to sell the roller...I bought everything from him. I can only hope that my car runs half as good as yours does....

Default Rods & Pistons

Hi tirefryin_s10,

When you freshened up that LQ4 with rings & bearings, I assume it was a 2004. You re-used the stock pistons & used rods from an LQ9. Are the pistons from a LQ4 hypereutectic? Are the LQ9 rods any stronger? I know you upgraded to ARP rod bolts. Were the pistons in your 5.3 hypereutectec? Great build! I am cloning your build with a LQ4 going into my lightened 1988 5.0 mustang hatch. Im in the process of accumulating parts now. Cant wait to get the bulk of my parts, then I will start a thread.

Neil, just want to tell you I have read your thread at least three times from start to finish. It has been my inspiration for my 67 camaro. I have never built a turbo car or even a car for that matter. My setup is a '99 5.3 4l60e out of a gmc truck. Thanks for all the pictures and the detailed write up. Mike
