Questions about 5.3 carb in 89 Mustang
Ok I need some help here guys.
I found a 1989 Ford Mustang with a 5.3 carb motor in it. Its got the Edlebrock intake and a holley 750 carb. It's running stock manifolds into 3" exhaust.
My question is how the hell is this car running off a camaro ECU. Their is no MSD Ignition box or Distributor.
Will it run?
Car seems to run sweet once its warmed up
Also how much power can a 5.3 carb setup make on motor, this guy is claiming 450RWHP. I really don't believe it.

Yeah this is your old car.
He wants to trade for my street bike, but he wants me to buy a 12" extended swing arm
I got a 2004 Suzuki GSX-R 600, I told him today after finding your post in the forsale section that the car was sold for $4000 no way I'll do the bike with the swing arm.
How the hell did you get the car to run with just the ECU

Thats the thing he didn't get it from you, he got it from the guy that bought it from you. He posted an ad saying it was a LS1 Motor from a corvette. I went to see it last night and realized it was a 5.3 block with 5.3 heads.
What made the car lose fuel on the top end of your 1/4 mile pass, looks like the car had a 10.XX in it.
Did you weigh the car??

Cool.
I was impressed how good it runs once its warmed up. If I don't end up with the car, I'd love to build one someday exactly the same way.
What makes me want the car is the fact that it has no rot at all and not a sign of rust on it. Gotta love those southern cars.
I'll keep you informed on what happens
