Question 83 chevy truck LS1 motor

I am putting a LS1 motor into my 83 chevy short wide and need help with the wiring harness. I already have the harness and computers for the under the hood and the in cab connection, does anyone have a wiring diagram or know where i could get one for a 01 LS1 motor out of a chevy truck, thats what it came out of.

If it is a truck motor, it is not a LS1, it would be LM7, LQ4 or LQ9, etc.. It would be a GM Gen III Engine (as a LS1 is also).

there are sticky that have the pin out of the LS1 PCM, but it would be differents in the Truck PCM and Harnesses.

Please provide the correct engine before we get a lot of incorrect reply to your question.

Check out post 13 of the FAQ sticky it has lots of wiring links. If it is a 5.3L from a truck I have more wiring diagrams that I can send you via e-mail, just let me know where you want them sent.

I'm sorry its actually an 05 chevy motor. I was told it was an LS1 motor but it has a truck harness and pulley's is there any way to tell what the actual motor is? As far as I can tell it is an LS1 it has the LS1 heads and a LS1 high rise intake.

It isn't an LS1 from 05. The tall intakes are from the truck motors. Look around through this section, and find a picture that looks like what you have. What did the motor come out of?

Do you have a picture of your engine ? You can usually find picture of each engine on EBay.. just search on LS1, LS2, LS6 or for the truck, LM7, LQ4 or LQ9 for some results

You can also get the VIN off of the block on the bellhousing casting above the oil filter. That might help ID the engine.

There is a casting on the rear of the block that will tell you what size the engine is... 5.3L/5.7L/6.0L, etc. Also is it a Iron or Alum Block ?

How deep is the oil pan ?.. 5.5" or about 8" deep fromt he block/pan rail to the bottom of the rear slump?

There are many tell tail sign of which might help you ID which engine you have.

I was told it was an LS1 out of an 05 chevy truck. So I am kind of clueless now. I have a truck harness that came with it that requires the red computer connection and I believe it has an 8" pan but I'm not sure. My brother is getting me some pics, I'm three hours away at work so can't just go look at it, I appreciate everyone's help though. The pictures are too big to ost on here so here is a link to where I've posted them Thanks:

I have a computer with a SS# of 12582605 YDNK
the HDW# is 12580786
and the serial 3 is 86YD10K90317182N7
The computer connection are Blue and Green, but I do not have a part number for the harness that I have. If anyone has the pinouts for the computer and the wiring diagram for this set up I would appreciate the help.
I have looked at the post 13 FAQ sticky and everything I've looked at only goes up to 2001 or so and there's not much for the trucks. If anyone knows for sure on the wiring range for the trucks or can tell me off of the computer numbers I'd really appreciate it, I've been working on this project for about three months, I've been working stricktly on the wiring for at least a month and have gotten nowhere I really want me truck back
