LS1/2/6.0 into mopar a body
ok im a big mopar fan, im also a just slightly less of a GM fan, mopar first love always, but im also a fan of EFI. yes theres the 360 that was in the trucks, but it has its issues, yes theres the HEMI but its expensive and get even more so if you want more that 500hp. the best EFI motor out there is the LSX series of motors. so heres the question has anyone tried or know what it would take to swap a LSX motor into a mopar a body, say a duster/dart spot or a body cuda. im sure its possible, but I want to know if anyones tried it cant seem to find any info. would probally be interestnd in a LSX/t56 swap info. I think it would be one hell of a car when done.

Yes, that would be amazing. I'm a big fan of Mopar a-bodies but it seems that new chrysler engines have lots of problems. The old engines are great, but let's face it, they're dinosaurs at this point. I'm sorry that I can't provide any useable information other than I know for a fact that Keisler Auto makes a kit to swap in a 4L65E into a-bodies.
But like they say: with enough time, money and know how any swap is possible

whats wrong with the new hemi? They have more power potential than the LSX jus not as many people have covered them yet.....
I havent actually done a ton of research on them, but ive heard that there expensive to build, the aftermarket hasnt gotten really up to speed on them yet, if you want any more than 500hp reliably they get really expensive, I think there kinda of a pain to wire also. some of those issues will probably be cleared up, there will probally be more aftermarket support, especially after the challenger comes out, but I think they will always be expensive to build.LSXs seem to be easier to come buy, cost less and are cheaper to build, theres more of them and theyve been in more cars, and trucks if you count the iron ones, which I wouldnt be against, but only a 6.0. like I said thats the way it seems to me, I suppose I could be wrong, but I doubt it.
of course thats not to say the thought hadnt crossed my mind. there always a lot going on up there.

As with the Ford mod-motor and LSx engines, MSD & Edelbrock make it easy to run a new Hemi with a carb. The price of the Hemi is shocking on the wrecker markets compared to the LSx engines, IMO.

As far as I know the new HEMI motors have a specific tuning software for there motors, they gotta do the piggy back thing using other programs, which doesnt include all parameters.

if you start out with the 6.1 block, you can re sleeve it and stroke it to 426 or 440 cid. i reccomend the 6.1 block for a couple reasons, first off, they have a much better intake manifold design, and second they have oil squirters underneath the pistons, to cool off the piston from the underside and reduce knock and preignition. yes it's expensive, but you'll keep it in the family.

I think a LSx in a Cuda would be cool.

I'd like to see this swap. I'm not a Mopar fan, but the Lsx family has at least one other major advantage over the new hemi: aluminum blocks, and plenty of them. Cheap. new bare LS2 blocks for just $1200!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Add a used LQ9 for the guts, and out-handle any hemi for less than my local going rate for a truck 5.7L hemi takeout engine.
Plus I always thought the '70 Cuda was pretty cool for heavily ape-ing the '69 camaro's styling, and the early camaros are so overdone these last several years.
Do it! Put an LS2 in a '70-'74 Cuda!
