Default How to get the AC working?

Since the search on LS1tech seems to be a bit broken (can't search just this section, only the entire site), could someone give me an idea what I need to do to use the stock 5.3l AC compressor with older AC system? What sensors/switches does the PCM need to operate the variable AC compressor, if any? Will I need to change the condenser to a larger unit, since this will be a R12 to R134a conversion? Does the orifice tube need to be changed for a different type? The stock AC system on my Jeep is thermostatically controlled and used a york compressor, and had a low pressure limit switch. I'd appreciate any info or experiences you guys have on this topic.

TIA,

It is a bone stock '99 5.3l. The only change to the PCM is the removal of VATS.

Not sure about a way for you to hook it up... but for the search check this out.

https://ls1tech.com/forums/user-support-resources/758705-temporary-search-enhancement-tips.html

More specifically, to search in a particular forum:
"To search within a specific forum:
1. Get the forum id number. (Hover over the forum, and look for the number in the status bar as above)
2. In the search box, type forumid:<number>.
3. As above, you then specify the stuff you want to find in the posts. ie. forumid:45 fuel injectors"

Might help you find some answers...

Thank you for that information! I rarely go anywhere other than Conversion & Hybrid section, so I would have never seen that.
