I don't know what kit APS makes, but I can't imagine it working on a 3rd gen swap. Go over to v8rx7forum.com and search for "FD turbo" and you should get your answer. A few people have built them, but it's a nightmare as far as packaging is concerned.

I think APS makes a vette and a GTO kit right? I doubt either would fit right out of the box... it would probably be easier and cheaper to make your own setup. The APS C5 Vette kit is really a work of art though, absolutely beautiful!

EDIT: I just saw that they're making F-body kits too now...

That might be a fairly easy job to make fit on an ls1 fc..... can't comment on the fd though since I don't have one. You'd be looking at a different intercooler setup and piping at a min and maybe some reworking of the exhaust side on an fc but doesn't look like too much more. Hmmm, I do work for the company that makes the upgrade actuators for those as well as some of the units that ship with the kits.

Hinson is working on a single turbo setup for FD's, it should be out relatively soon.

There is absolutely zero chance that you'll be able to use that setup on an FD. The passenger side turbo will be occupying the same space as the frame rail. Your best bet is to give Hinson a call or have someone local fab a custom system up.

Hinson has been promising a turbo kit for years. Don't hold your breath.

Take the car to any competent fabricator... give the guy a boatload of cash... and tell him what you want.

A single turbo setup in an RX-7 is going to be a heck of a lot easier than a twin turbo setup as far as packaging. They are very cramped engine bays.

ive just spent atleast one night a week for the last two months working on a RX7-LS1...

theres no way the turbos can mount there.. LOL. its a TIGHT TIGHT fit... the framerail and back of the fenderwell are in the way.

i did figure out how its POSSIBLE to mount a big single, but man, its a packaging nightmare.. i mean.. a N/A LS1 in an RX7 actually fits well enough you can work on it, but add turbo stuff, and its going to be more cramped then a modded turbo rotory in there...

Of course, we should specify FD RX7 for cramped. I can stand in my FC engine bay and work on the LS1, and that's with a direct port kit w/ standalone fuel system. Turbo would be an easy fit, with twins being the simplest, really.

fc is the second gen and fd is thrid gen rx7

The fc is similiar in appearance to a 944.

Not too bad, and often times they can be had for free with a dead rotary in them.

As for being a late 80's pos.... meh, I'll run you in your late 80's pos
