Default speedo any one want to be confused

heres the deal . installed ls1 into 4 runner installed a 4o tooth reluctor ring into transfercase fab a bracket to install the camero speed sensor into the tail housing of the transfercase. had speed sceen wiring flash computer for install of ls1 in to 4 runner. heres the problem the speedo reads double. 70mph reads 140mph ect.... speed sceen says the put the tire size and gear ratio in the flash . i would think the speed o should be a little slow because of the tire size and gears . i also read something about a guy having to remove every other tooth from the ring for speedo to be right. confused enough. any advice would be great. thanks

What year is your 4Runner? I am finishing up a 93 with a lm7 but I am using a th400 with a cable speedo. I have never dealt with them but could you change to a 20 tooth reluctor ring? Or possibly double your tire size in the computer?

I think an easier option would be to use Dakota Digital's speedometer converter. You can use it to fine tune the speed rather than doing any sort of physical modification (ie removing teeth off a gear). The wire feeds off the speed sensor up to the speedometer and is calibrated via buttons on Dakota's unit.

it actually should be easily adjusted in the tooth, just multiply the VSS pulse count per mile by 2 and use that value for a quick reflash
