LS1 in 96 camaro, how to use fuel lines and bypass return?
hey so how exactly would i bypass the return line for using the ls1 in my lt1 car, i know the LS1 has 1 fuel line, while the LT1 uses 1 vacuum and 1 fuel and 1 return line. How would I do this so that I can make the LS1 get fuel? I have a walbro pump so the actuall fuel deliver is good because I know the lt1 fuel pump cant hold an LS1 engine. Any pics or help would be very appreciated.

No sure about which vacuum line your talking about.. but
You can use a bypass regulator near the engine and just use the return line of the LT1 car.
or
you can use the regulator near the gas tank and do away with the return line running to the engine, the return line will be a short from the regulator to the return on the tank.
You can use a good bypass regulator or a 99+ vette Filter/Regulator.

The lt1 used a return from the rail style fuel system so two lines run to the tank from the rail.... It had a regulator with a vaccum port that adjusted fuel pressure based on engine load...... The ls1 cars used a return system but the return was incorporated into the top of the fuel tank and the regulator was just inside the the sending unit. They then ran the one main feedline to the front ls1 rail and thus the returnless fuel system was born.
I made you a crude diagram let me know if this helps, This is also the correct regulator for your application..... You can make all the necessary attachments via compression to -6 fittings also.
I have this regulator in stock and would be more than willing to help just give me a call.
Good luck!

Here we go again. The cheapest thing to do is to use the Vette 98-2004 fule filter. It has a fuel pressure reg built in and cost about $20-40 depending where you get it.
I mounted mine in the stock location and connected the fuel pressure line right to it. The stock return line I shortened and connected to it as well. After this I used a set of stock LS1 fuel lines to run the rest of the way to the engine after modifying them to connect to the outlet of the filter. It's cheap, works awsome, and looks stock.
I've also seen someone connect the vette filter to the pressure and return lines in the engine compartment and run a custom line fron the filter to the fuel rail.
Actually that statement is wrong. My LS1 with a Stealth II cam is currently running fine with the stock 94 LT1 fuel pump. As I am not planning tempting fate I've been taking it easy on it since the swap was done (two weeks) and I will be installing a pump in the next week or so.

By returning fuel you are keeping the pressure regulated, Most pumps are capable of higher pressures than what your engine runs and without regulation they will climb above the desired level.

so the ls1 pressure is unregulated? or the fuel pump is setup with an internal regulator? not sure what he best method would be, this fuel filter or the regulator itself. I need more pics of the filter type all the way up to the motor and also if you wanna upgrade, does that mean an upgraded filter with regulator or a separate regulator?

guessing thats a 97 vette intake, and all you did was put the intake on rite and hooked it up. Having trouble finding one, can I just drill the fuel rail and put the return line where your nitrous is drilled in at?

no it has a built in regulator like a friggin lt1...easiest way is using a 97 vette rail the lt1 lines clip onto them in the engine bay.....but those are hard to find...you could do custom lines but its time and money but looks nice and can be purdy...you can use the vetter regulator in the lt1 engine bay that clips to the lt1 stock lines then you run a short like to the ls1 raill thats prolly what youll end up doing...prolly only cost 50 bux...
or like me you find a wrecked 98 and use the fuel lines from it....and you can get them for like 10 bux....but also hard to find
