Ls7 ??? I have a question. I want a 00 trans am but i dont want the LS1 i want a LS7.so i was wondering if a LS7 would fit,bolt up,wire up with everything just like the LS1 does.if not how would i go about doing so.sorry for the question but im a noob when it comes to this stuff.

Is the LS3 the dry sump like the LS7? I know it's a hybrid motor itself straight from GM.
I also +1 for the new GM LSX Block that has high CID headroom.
What about LS7 heads and intake on an LSX block?

The LS3 is a wet sump. Just a few more CI's than the LS2.. It does have variable valve timing, so there are some issues there.. At this point, you'd need a complete takeout to make one work I think..
You can get at least 427ci out of the 6L iron blocks. Mine will be at 408 with a .030" overbore.

The LS7 is going to be the 58 tooth reluctor as well, so the stock 2000 computer aint gonna work. You will need all new wiring and a computer that will work with the 58 tooth reluctor, or pull out the crankshaft and change the ring to a 24 tooth.

I have an LS1 with a Z06 cam in my sandrail. The PCM has been moded by Street and Performance to remove all the street and emission bullcrap.
If I went with an LS7 motor and a 24 tooth reluctor, could I still use my same PCM? What about the wiring?

the ls1/6 and the ls2/7 do not share the same sensor locations or all the connectors. the coil and injector connectors are different, the map sensor location changed, the knock sensor wiring and location change, cam sensor location, and possibly the maf and iat sensor arent the same
