Default It's alive

Fired my swap Sat. after working out a few minor bugs I was able to drive it on Sun. Still a few bugs to work out but I'm very impressed with the ls1 motor. I have never driven an ls powered car before, the power the stock motor has is amazing. It's like the motor just keeps pulling, I still can't believe how much of a difference there is versus the old carbed motor. Thanks to everyones help. I'm 48 and this is my first swap. I've been wanting to do this for about 5 yrs. now and finally got the ***** to do it. Thanks again John

I'll try to update that pic. I'm one of those people that have to make a list. And remind myself of the obvious sometimes.

Hookers, didn't have to ding them. Took a grinder to the steering box and to the pitman arm so far so good. Clearance is tight but it seems to work.

DCx- mounts are S&P style.

brett walker-Thanks for now just a cruiser since winter is coming I won't be driving to much. My plans are to save over the winter and maybe in the spring do ls6 intake and maybe a zo6 cam. Nothing to radical but I would love to have 400hp!

Indy, congradulations!!!! Glad to see you are getting close! DSE is who you need to call if you want to do the wiper motor conversion, though you may be able to get the 68-69 sytle to clear the #7 coilpack. 67 style will not. WHere did you mount the PCM? Look slike a clean install!

thank you.

i just installed my S&P style mounts to my engine last night. there is so much debate about headers! i like the tube design on the hookers v. the stainless works, looks like you have much more spark plug wire clearance. i may end up getting the hookers.

67rsss couldn't have done it with out your help. thanks again. The pcm is mounted in the glove box. If I ever install a Vintage a/c it will have to be moved. I may call DSE for that wiper motor in the spring, it's on my list.
