Default 3.8 conversion

i have an 98 camaro with 3.8l V6 and 700r4 tranny i'm looking to put an ls1 or 6.0 ls2 i need to know what i need for this swap i'm pretty sure that i'll need a tranny not sure which the guy i called from mr. goodwrench said that a t.a. wouldn't fit because the difference in the bellhousing i think i need an ecu and wiring harrness but don't know where to find them cheap does anyone make a kit for this conversion will the motor fit do i need to change suspension rearend this is my first project and my first time on a forum so any and all help would be greatly appreciate open for all oppinions thanx in advance

hmmm im wanting to do this 2 u can buy a wiring harness on the forum some time but if u got money buy the painless
if u wanna make it fly by wire throttle body i got a harness i would get rid of if u are willing to buy it i think im just gonna wait my swap off

I just got done doing this to a 94 v6 camaro. You will need to get a different k- member, wiring harness, ecu, fuel pump and some other thing i cant remember right now ill think about it and let you know

that be great if you could just p.m. or e-mail me it'd be a great help everyone tells me it's not worth it buy a new car but i own it and it's in good shape a ss goes for alot more than a new motor but anyways thanx alot man

ok seriously i get where u are coming from like my v6 is a 1 owner so i wanna keep it for a long time i have memories in that car and when i sit in it i feel good like its tailored to me

I here ya on everybody tellin you to buy a new car, but do what you want. I spent 1k on the car and dumped as much into it that a 02' would go for and now i have a paid for car that runs low low 9's.

If any of you have any questions just pm me its easier to remember that way then I can just think of what I did.

can i just buy a tunular k member??

Tubular k-members aren't really for DD use most people don't have a bad experience with them but some have them break. All you need the the center section not the lower/upper control arms most people are selling the center section for about $50 and the whole thing for $100 plus you need the mounts and stands also not very expensive to find used. And don't forget the ls1 steering rack and linkage.

I use my tubular k member for DD never had one problem. Neither has anyone that I know.

so i have a motor and a 5.3 fly by wire harness
a ls2 intake
90mm fbw throttle body
so should i do it??
