The 65 LS1 F85 cutlass is on the road and legal. I just want to thank all you guys that have helped this green horn to make it so. Without this forum and your help it couldn't have happened. It will be a few years before she's made pretty. I'm going to drive and enjoy it for a while before she gets tore down for cosmetic work. I'm taking her to the track this friday to see how she runs. I spent a lot of time over the weekend trying the best approach on launching her. With out a posi rear you have to ease her out or the right tire just goes up in smoke. This will effect my times but all in all I'm very satisfied with the way it runs and drives. Things to note. I installed blue halogen head lights a far cry from the old headlamps and visibility. The 4 wheel disc stop on a dime and very smoothly money well spent. Thanks again to all that have helped with this project.

Congrats. You will enjoy every mile you're driving. This forums rocks and none here would've completed their conversions without the help we get and provide here.

Congratulations on being up and running, Rocky. I just bought an LS1 for my 66 Buick project and I am looking to keep the cost of the swap down. I see that you have stock exhaust manifolds. Are they F body? My motor came with Y body manifolds that I doubt will fit but it sure would be nice if they did. Did you use a 4L60E or something else? I plan to use a built 200-4R that is already in the car.

Thanks guys. It is indeed a blast to drive and the wow factor and reaction of folks when you pop the hood is icing on the cake. The engine is an F body. The trans is the 4l60E that came with it. I got almost 22 mpg on the first tank and that was with not less than 10 full throttle launches.
