Fox 8.8 driveshaft to lsx t56 u joint? I have seen alot of guys are putting lsx's in fox and was wondering what unjoint you guys are using to attach the GM 27 spline yoke to the ford 8.8 drive shaft. What size would the u joint be?

You have to get a custom driveshaft made that accepts the t56 Ujoint up front and the 8.8 ujoint out back.
the t56 is a longer trans that the t5 anyway so lenghtwise it would not work.

i work at a parts store, and the easy way is look up wich part number fits the mustang and then wich fits the yoke and the parts catalog will have the dimensiuons in the back and you just have to find a joint that has the one demension going one way tand the other goingthe other way. thats what i did for my 68 camaro shaft. and im about to do one in my new swap (a fox mustang).

That is incorrect my driveshaft fits fortunately without the need for any of that.

I used www.dennysdriveshaft.com. My slip yoke, 1350 rear yoke, and driveshaft, nitrous ready (lifetime warranty and painted) was about $560. They make you take a bunch of measurements but its worth it for the piece of mind.

It all depends what kind of yoke you get for the T56. You can get a 1310 yoke or a 1350 yoke. There are also various pinion flange yokes available for the 8.8" rear. If this is a drag car I would get a T56 yoke that has 1350 joints, get a driveshaft with 1350 weld yokes and get a pinion flange yoke with 1350 joints as well. Any competent driveline shop should be able to set you up.

You might be able to tell me what kind of yoke I have. I got it from a friend I had to heat it with a torch to remove the yoke. I am not really sure you can tell by looking at it..

and i love your 6.0 emblems. makes me wish mine wasnt a 5.7 . im trying to think of something like that to do my stang to make people look a little confused but can't think of anyhting that good.
on a side note. my stock fox driveshaft is about only 1/2" too long. if my aje mounts had any play (for and aft) i probably could have used my stock shaft, the stock trans crossmember (was close) and i maybe wouldnt have had to chop my headers. maybe.

I custom made my own k member and mounts so lucky I was able to put it about an inch forward. If I can find out what vehicle it came off exactly could that give me the info I need? I can possibly get ahold of the friend i got it from.

considering there wasnt a t56 in a 1991 z28... no
the driveshaft shop that did mine used an adapter ujoint, i wanna say a 1350 to a 1310??? but im not sure im looking for the recipt now...
:edit: found my recipt, doesnt specify what joint but it cost $18.00 lol

700r4 t56 4l60e all use the same yoke apperently. So thats what it was from the yoke fits nicely into my t56, i'll find the specs on it and the mustang to see if we can come up with something.

i called in my demensions to a local d/s shop and got one custom made for $374 with tax. 1350 yokes, 3" mild steel 49-3/4 inches long with an aje k member and 95 cobra rear end

thats what im going to do i think. I will just go there.. have them measure it for me.. I'll eaither find one online matching the dimensions or have them make me one if the price is right.

When we did our conversion, we used a stock fox body driveshaft and a TH350 (same as 700r4/T56) slip yoke and took it to a local driveline shop. They put a new yoke on the front side of the shaft and installed the slip yoke with new U-joints and balanced it. It worked out great. You may want to call your driveline shop first to find out what measurments they will need to shorten/lengthen your driveshaft correctly.
