Default 90 Firebird, 3.8L LC2 to 6.0L LQ4 swap!!!

Hey guys! I have a 1990 Firebird and am about 95% positive that Ill be picking up a 6.0L this weekend. My current plan is to remove this:

Out with this:

And install a 6.0L Gen III Iron block. For now, Ill likely get a nice cam to compliment the stock heads but I also am considering doing a L92 setup with the Fast 92/92 and 42lb injectors. Im debating on whether or not to use, manifolds, shorties, or Swap LT's. Ill probably fork over the dough and get the LT's.

I did the 3.8L swap myself last year, the motor was built back then too, have ran a best of 12.20@113mph on a 1.75 60' footbraking 6psi boost and a max boost of 20psi. I am just looking for something else is all. I like the little challenges of an engine swap lol.

Minus the 3.8L setup, my car has the following mods that will likely be retained/saved for the swap;

Mods:
TH400 w/ Fuddle Racing 3200 stall & trans cooler(will get restalled to match new combo)
Spohn Crossmember and torque arm
SLP Line lock
1LE Heater box
2001 Trans Am 3.23 rear axle(may get 9" for tax return, if I get one)
AlkyControl Methanol Injection system(may use, may save for boosted application)
17x9.5 Black C5ZO6 wheels
275/40/17 nitto's up front and 275/40/17 MT DR's in rear

Im open to all advice, pics, links etc of everybody's LSx swapped thirdgen!

Yeah, there are plenty of LC2 swaps in the 10's as well as 89 TTA's. This setup does have alot more in it. I need a new turbo which is gonna run around $1500 for the one I want. It could possibly hit high 10's on it running methanol injection and 25+psi. There are plenty of stock motor'd GN's in the 10's as well. The motor is badass, not bulletproof but badass for sure. Just lookin for something to do over the winter

Thats why if something hapens to my motor I will be doing a LSx swap. Just too much money you have to pour in just to make it right.

Why not keep your firebird buick powered and buy another f-body for the LQ4 swap? It'd be a shame to see all that work undone.

As much as I want to keep it buick powered, Im not going too. Seems like those Turbo V6's are too tempermental for my tastes. I get bored too lol, so I think the LQ4 swap will keep me budy this winter!!

I actually picked up the 6.0L today, came 110% complete. Had everything from top to bottom, accessories, wiring harness and PCM. Even had battery cables lol. Ill be selling all the unusuable stuff to offset the cost of the motor. I paid $900 for all with 66-67000 miles on it. Ill sell the 317 heads and 6.0L manifolds to my brother for his budget turbo Firebird build.

I think a L92/L76 setup will work good, maybe a Fast 92/92!!

Quick Reply: 90 Firebird, 3.8L LC2 to 6.0L LQ4 swap!!!
