Default New Project build :) some more import muscle!

Hi All,

First ill introduce myself , my name is Marc, I'm from New Brunswick Canada (Accross the boarder from Maine). For those of you that I've purchased/sold parts too, you know i normally ship/received everything from the USA since its a lot cheaper to send parts there than shipping it accross the boarder, plus its a 10 minute drive to my aunts in Maine where I pickup the parts .

A couple years ago I built my first LS swapped car, a 2001 Honda S2000. A few upgraded parts in the engine, she was a fun car! I regret selling it last year, but the lack of room in the car made me sell it.

I've had several vehicles since, and built a few vehicles since..(RWD f20c swapped civic, Toyota supra 2jzgte, skyline R34 ect..) but I still miss the sound of the ol v8!

My new project that i will be swapping a V8 in is a 1998 Nissan Skyline R34 GTT.
I have several things planned for this car that will fuel some of the haters around here

- Left hand drive conversion (Because I hate right hand drive, even though i have 2 RHD cars in the drifveway right now.
-Paint the black body parts to match the color of the car (Also already removed that ridiculous wing)

and now the good stuff
-5.3L swap
-Cam swap (If anyone selling a cam, 225 225 581 581 113 INBOX ME )
-Valve Springs
-Head Studs
-T56 transmission (If anyone selling INBOX ME )
-Megasquirt MS3 Gold (If anyone selling INBOX ME )
-Twin disc clutch (If anyone selling INBOX ME )
-Borg warner Turbo
Yada yada yada... you know the drill , lots of parts

I know most of you are Chevy Guys, but whats your though on this ?

My thoughts on this are

"OMFG, 30% of the JDM guys are going to be SHRIEKING & HOWLING for your dripping scalp!! (The other 70% are going to be too apoplectic to be able to freakin' BREATHE...!)"

Which is an AWESOME reason to do it!!

My thoughts are that I hate you for your 15 year import law. Only 9 more years and we in the States can have an R34, too!

Second, that is a gorgeous car, and will be an awesome project.

2 of my favorite cars. A V8 S2000 and a Skyline. The only thing I don't like about the swap is that you are getting rid of the AWD. The original engine is good, a LS is better but the AWD is one of those things that makes the car what it is! Good luck on your swap though!

Looks to be really interesting, I know most import guys don't like to put v8s in when RB's and SR's are out there but it would be cool to see something different.

My son is doing the same swap to an R32 (I think that's what he has) He's keeping the right hand drive, it's causing problems for him with the starter and the header on that side.

awesome build.

is it just swapping firewalls to change the rhd -> lhd? (thats more or less all that is involved in a civic swap)

Nah since they never made any lhd r34's
Little more involved than swapping like a civic
But not a big worry

Yeah , i will be running a single downpipe in order to have it fit proper in mine
As for the starter, its because of his steering rack, has he tried a slim starter?

Pic of the engine, not much of an update right now
Been super busy , haven't touched the car yet

Engine went on the engine stand last night, thats about all that happened to this project

I should be starting to strip the skyline apart in the next couple of weeks, found a buyer for the swap, selling him the full swap including radiator, intercooler ect.. For 1000$, not bad for a 84 000km swap)
