Default Freshly Painted 2000 Vert.

She just had a paint refresh, it was not bad before but she had a few scratches here and there...

I'm not a fan of white cars but yours is stunning. The wheels really set it off nicely. Is the top white also? How many miles?

Why thank you for the very kind words! The top is black and only seen when it's time for a wash or when I drive her to work on Fridays. She has 67k miles. When it is time for a new top I may consider white.

i was considering some dual blue hood and trunk stripes, similar to the 30th Anniversay car. What do you think?

Nothing like fresh paint. What a great interior/exterior color for FL. Looks great.
Just laid out $5k for a nice paint job on my collector AMC. It's tough to spend the big $$ but in the long haul,

Gorgeous car! I can never find a white car when I'm looking to buy one, I always end up with black.

Black is always a very nice car color! When they are clean they really look good.

My car has the stock exhaust tips and they turned black. I tried to clean them but no luck. I recently saw another TA with the same tips but they were clean and semi polished. The guy told me they were aluminum and he cleaned them with sandpaper.

I am going to go over mine with a Drimmel tool using the sandpaper wheel.

Before I do this, does anyone have any tips on how to clean them up?

I use Noxon metal polish. It comes in a plastic bottle like a wax product would. Cleans up my 'stock' aluminum tips quite well. 14 years and still looking good.

Did you purchase it online or in a store? Can you post a picture of them?

I went out and started cleaning them up!

It's a store product. It's been years though so I can't tell you where.
No pics, sorry, but I can tell you my car is a 'show' car and I don't skimp on cleaning.

Your kind words are much appreciated!!!

I am planning to have my painter add two blue stripes down the hood and trunk. What are your thoughts on that?

I vote 'leave it alone'. Sometimes less is more but it's your car. Whatever you like.

I agree ^
Your car looks clean and just custom enough BUT I know just like everyone else you want that extra something that makes your car stand out from the rest on the road.
I was just Google searching some images of a White Trans Am with Blue stripes and I have to say it does look pretty bad ***.

Whatever you decide i'm sure you cant go wrong!

Thank you for your opinions! I am really torn on this one. The '99 30th Anny blue stripes look very nice, but instead of the birds near the inlet, I would just go with the solid stripe.

If she were mine, I would not add them but over the years (I will be 70 in July) I have learned that you need to do whatever makes you happy.

What a fantastic day yesterday! A perfect sunny Sunday...80 degrees and cruising with the top down!
So many convertibles out yesterday but I only saw one Trans Am! ;-)

How much did the repaint end up costing if you don't mind me asking?

You may not believe this but it was $1600. He is a one man show, but loves his work. He had my car for two weeks, which was fine with me! He finally called and told me come get it because he would keep looking for any imperfections to fix.
I do believe he is a T/A fan!
