My Z06 just got totaled. :( (Right forum this time.)
Well, the title says it all. I was coming home from a night out at the bars and stuff... It was actually a good night. I met up with some friends, and we had a ******* good time.
Anyway, 2:10am, I'm heading through the White Oak / Victory intersection and I see a cross over heading very fast from the left, not stopping. I slammed my breaks, but it was too late. I got hit from the side. We're not sure if she was asleep at the wheel, but she had no idea what happened.
Well, she didn't have a license, but somehow she had insurance. Have no idea if it's real or not, but she was crying and I was staying as calm as possible. Cops asked me if I'd been drinking, I said yeah, but after the field sobriety tests and the breathalyser, I passed with flying colors.
So, the damage is total. The entire front end of my car is tweaked off to the right side of the car by about 2-3 inches. Frame is totally tweaked. The driver's side front wheel was only being held on by the steering rack and sway bar; control arms and a-arms were snapped completely. Both air-bags deployed which is interesting cause I didn't even see it happen, but noticed it when I was trying to get out of the car. (Smelled like the car was on fire thanks to the air bags...) And the driver's side door is completely off the frame, could only open the door by the inside. Not sure what the outside panel is hanging on by.
OK... Time for the pics:

Yeah, I had one little scratch on my foot that I didn't find until this morning. LOL Aside from that nobody got hurt. I did find some glass in my ear and in my hair and I still have some glass in my hands, but it's no biggie.
I'm going to ask what the insurance company wants for it. The engine and trans are definitely in good shape. MOST of the interior is OK. The dash pad is a little tweaked but the rest is good. There's 3 HRE 540's in good shape and there's a lot of stuff in the engine bay that wasn't damaged at all (like the CIA and what not).
If the price is right, I'll pick it up and part it out.

Sorry to hear about your wreck, I am glad her timing was what is was, a split second later and you might not have been here to show us picutres and tell us about it. I hope it work out you can buy a nicer car then what you had, it looked like a nice ride.

The car was damn near mint before. I'm hoping there isn't a lot of BS so I can get into another Z06.
The adjuster called me today to let get my side of the story. Apparently the lady lied to her insurance company and told them it was my fault and that I was turning left. Of course, once they see the police report, they'll realize she was lying, but in the mean time I'm going to have to battle this.

dam man, sorry to hear about that. It sucks to lose a vehicle you've worked so hard on because of women drivers...
the important part is everyone is ok. Insurance can handle it as best as they can.. some times doesnt seem worth it for ur investment but its the nature of the beast. Good luck to you
