Default Should I sell my T/A and get a C5?

Im really thinking hard about getting rid of my T/A and picking up a C5 vette with a M6. I can find them around my area for around 10-15k with less than 100k and variable mods. I even found a procharged one with 476hp for 12k!

I really see no point in keeping my T/A yes its a slightly cheaper payment and my insurance will go up about 80 bucks. I just hear they are so much nicer.

Anyways guys that have done this are you happy?

I checked out the sticky on corvetteforum about realiablilty. What problems have you guys had?

yes, i switched from a 2002 camaro to a 01 z06 and i love it. It truly was one of the best decisions i have made. Oh and its my daily and one problem i had was steering column lock which is a 50 $ delete item.

sold my 01 Z28 for my 02 Z06 when i was 19. hands down the best car decision ive made.

Corvettes are MUCH nicer vehicles...

also, your insurance should go DOWN on the corvette from an Fbody...

Sold my cammed, full bolt on, stalled and geared NBM T/A for an '02 ZO6. I miss the mods and personality of the T/A...it was just a mean sounding badass car. The Z is beautiful but a completely different feeling. I would say keep the T/A unless tou can upgrade to a Z. A regular corvette is a downgrade IMHO. Mods are also WAY cheaper for the f-body so if your gonna go mod crazy keep the T/A.

I went from "02 TA to Z06 because I got the road racing bug. Z is much better for that, not that I didn't enjoy tracking the TA. I liked the looks of the TA better, but the Z is a nicer car with more luxuries. TA has that "I am going to kick your *** look, whereas the Z, it is just understood "I could kick your ***" look. If I didn't road race, I would still have the TA. Just a matter of what you are going to do with it.

I have had about everything that could go wrong with a vette, go wrong with mine, but most are diy fixes. Oh yeah, I am also beating the hell out of mine during track season. Not sure they were made to be running 150+ every other week. I can't see how you could go wrong with either choice.

Good Luck!

No. Im about the "personality" of the car and quite frankly the TA has much more personality than that Vette. I dont see myself as a Vette owner, never. If you think is worth it do it....I wouldnt. Not now, not ever.

I own one of both, well a Camaro anyway, and you simply cannot compare the two IMHO. The Corvette is light years away from an Fbody in every category besides making a drag car cheaper. They have come down so far in price now that you can find nice ones for under 15k, it's a no brainer to me.

Good luck whichever direction you choose.

I made the jump from 02 SSLE and the way My Z rides and handles at speed is alot better than the fbody. Do it.

I went from a cammed bolt-on M6 T/A to a stock '02 Z06 and didn't regret it one bit. The Z06 does EVERYTHING better than the f-bod except for being cheap to make go fast in a straight line. Now that my Z06 is H/C/I it would absolutely murder the f-bod that I used to have. Looks better, handles a LOT better, lighter, and last but not least FASTER!

I have owned my 98 C5 for about six years now. No problems knock on wood. Just your normal every day routine maintenance. One thing I can say is that a Vette is a Vette! Something about them that is just amazing.

Quick Reply: Should I sell my T/A and get a C5?
