Default Tpis Heads And Cam, 4.10's

JUST GOT MY CAR FINISHED SATURDAY NIGHT. TPIS STAGE 2 HEADS THERE ZL 13 CAM (INT:231 LIFT .592 EXH.237 .599) LS6 INTAKE, PTB, TPIS HEADERS, FLY CUT PISTONS, ZO6 CLUTCH W/ MODIFIED SLAVE, 4.10 GEARS AND MTI HARDENED OUT PUT SHAFT.

DYNOED AT 520HP/480 TORQUE AT FLYWHEEL. WITH THE GEARS AND THE NEW UPGRADES THIS THING IS NOW A BLAST! I'D LIKE TO RECOMMEND THESE GEARS TO ANYONE WITH A C5 IT IS REALLY WORTH IT. TO DO THE GEAR INSTALL YOU NEED THE GM SPECIAL TOOLS, THE PINION COLLAR IS TORQUED TO 392FT/LBS! I HAD TPIS DO IT AND THE GEARS ARE SILENT, ONE THING I WAS WORRIED ABOUT WAS NOISE. THERE ARE TWO WASHERS, ONE ON EACH SIDE OF THE CARRIER THAT PRE-LOAD THE CLUTCH PACKS, IT IS VERY COMMON FOR THESE TO BREAK/CRACK. THE PROBLEM IS THAT YOU CAN'T PURCHASE THEM FROM GM, THEY WANT YOU TO PURCHASE A WHOLE NEW CARRIER. I FOUND A PLACE IN ANAHEIM,CALIF CALLED UNITRAX, THEY SELL UPGRADED WASHERS. JUST WANTED TO SHARE THIS WITH ANYONE WHO IS THINKING OF DOING GEARS ON THERE OWN AND NOT GO DOWN THE ROAD OF TRYING TO FIND THESE STUPID WASHERS. ANYWAYS I WAS EXCITED ABOUT MY CAR SO I THOUGHT I'D SHARE!

Congratulations man!! Sounds like a NICE car!!!! I have 4.10's with a hardened output shaft in my 99' FRC C5. I am going with the LG longtubes, and undecided on the cams and heads still... Don't know if I want something big and burly or something tame... Or a procharger.... Can't make up my mind yet.... Have fun!!!

Nice car, now turn off the caps lock

Are you going to put it on a dynojet some time? I'd be interested to know how much loss there is through the drivetrain.

DYNOED AT 520HP/480 TORQUE AT FLYWHEEL.

Is that from the h/c package? What else do you have done? Gears are the best purchase I think. Mine started whining after about 6k miles though. I don't mind I just turn up the radio, I can live with it since when I hammer it nothing even stays close.

I helped JUSTIFIEDC5, with this install at my place. I have the 427, 605hp-615trq flywheel from TPIS. I was very impressed with the combo, Bang-for-the Buck. I'd say it's hard to beat for a daily driver. no torque lost from stock at the lower RPM's which makes this thing fly. VERY happy with how it's running. tunning is perfect. thanks to Chris at TPIS.This is a stock internals, heads, cam, TPIS headers, LS6 intake and ported tb.

This is from the head cam package, ls6 intake, ptb, tpis headers, thats it. As far as other things, B&M shifter, baer eradispeed rotors all around, goodrige braided lines, zo6 clutch w/modified slave, and B&B prt's.

RWHP is probably about 440 to 450 and 400 to 410 RWTQ which is pretty respectable for those mods...i assume you are running LT w/o cats also (?) ... was the dyno open exhaust or closed?

Does TPIS have a flywheel dyno? Why aren't we talkin' RWHP here? FWHP might make you fell all warm and fuzzy but we want to know the REAL numbers.

As soon as I put in on a chassis dyno I will post the numbers. TPIS just has a flywheel dyno.

Cool. I was being kinda facetious but...........I reckon a flywheel dyno is just as good, no?

It is an engine dyno. The Tuning from TPIS is second-to-none. These folks know what they are doing.
