My maybe not so bright idea...
So i've had my Z06 for two weeks, and i've decided its to quiet for my taste. So... i picked up a factory C5 catback, cut the mufflers off (thinking it would be like borla Stingers or SLP Loudmouth, with out the price) and FINALLY got it installed tonight. WOW... now its WAY to LOUD! I know it probably is lacking about a foot of pipe before it gets to the back of the car, but its very deep and very rattley (is that a word) sounding.
So, should I,
A. Get the pipes extended all the way to the back with tips to see if that changes it.
B. Put the Ti back on, till I get my LT's and X-pipe.
I just needed it loud enough i could hear the car when i'm running one of my buddy's since they all have exhaust and i can't here anything!

I have to stop watching videos with cammed cars! Well, yea, see that sounds good. MINE, on the other hand... sounds horrible i'll get a video of it tommorow... that is IF i haven't put my factory Ti back on in the morning. 2 hour job, with a floor jack, 3 cut pieces of land scaping ties, and jack stands that aren't tall enough.

Going back to the Tis is your best bet. If you want something with more sound, find a set of STINGERS or something and then sell your Tis.

Get a thicker board or cut the one you have and stack it two or three tall. That way you can get it high enough for the exhaust to slip right in. Just leave your jack stands where they are at in case your jack starts to fail.... as long as the jack is centered you wont have to worry about the stands not being tall enough for the short amount of time needed. Swapping out the exhaust should take no longer than 45mins.

The sound will be much meaner sounding, and you'll make more power with the LT's.

Straight pipes like what you got will be much louder than Stingers. You have a few options 1) run headers with TI exhaust 2) run manifolds with Stingers 3) do both, thats what I did
