Default C6 ZO6 vs 3LT Coupe

Is the Z really worth the extra $22+ grand? With GM pricing, I can pick up a fully load coupe for a little over $52, but the Z is well over that. This car will not be raced, will be kept stock (I am going to get the extended warranty). Just trying to decide what to do...

It's up to you but if it were my money, I'd just get a 3LT coupe and put a supercharger and aftermarket rims on it, and save a bundle of money but still go fast and look good.

Supercharger though would void the warranty wouldn't it? Is there certain ones that won't?

A blower will not void a warranty unless it can be proven that IT was the cause of the problem. Its also emissions legal. As for the two choices your in a tough spot since it will be mainly a garage queen. The Z is way more car than the base coupe is. Yes it is worth the extra $$ because it does so much with no mods needed. To get to that level of performance would take almost as much money in the end as the used ones are selling for. You can find them on ebay with 10k mi for $67k. Plus you would not be as reliable as a stock car. Side by side the base car fades into the background. It would take more than wheels and a blower to grab peoples attention when parked next to a Z. Then you have the resale factor. Yes the Z will come down like all things. However, it will not decline as fast as the base car nor as much.

Basically the Z would/should satisfy your power needs without voiding warranty, or even having an eyebrow raised at you.

The Z is a supercar killer, while the Coupe is a run of the mill sportscar(not discrediting, just comparing).....

If you have the funds and don't mind driving stick daily I say get the Z....

Good Luck!

I was in the exact same situation. I really had my eyes on the Z06, bit I simply could not justify the extra expense right now. Thus, I ended up in a 3LT Z51 Coupe. And I don't plan to mod it anytime soon. It's no Z06, but it's still a great car with plenty of power.

And there is nothing "run of the mill" about any C6.

When I say run a of the mill I imply that they are a dime a dozen....Unlike the C6ZO6....

Shoot I must see 10+ 50+year old women driving them on a daily basis down here in south Florida, then again I see a few here and there in C5Z06's(I'm the proud owner of one)...

No need to be offended we all love our Vette's!
