Default 2008 C6 LS-3 First Dyno at LG Motorsports

Hi Guys,

We just put the first 2008 C6 LS-3 on the dyno. It is an automatic A6 paddle shift with 29 miles on it.

Huffines Chevrolet salesman, Scott Grahek, came over as soon as the car got unloaded (note the 29 miles)

The car looked great Red with the new Center Console in Carbon Fiber.

The dyno numbers came up really well, totally stock no changes at 370.8 rwhp and 663.8 rwtq.

I didn't get a chance to drive it but we have our own C6 sitting at the dealer as we speak.

The Car that we will have here on Tuesday will be a 6 speed, so we will get those dyno numbers up for you then.

Thanks guys.

looks like about 30whp increase over the LS2.

that's what people in the know have been predicting right along.

I wonder how easy it will be with these to lay 400 ponies down to the pavement.

I'm betting a CAI, headers & exhaust combined with a tune could do it.

Great numbers from a completely stock car. I bet headers and a cold air does 400 rwhp

Or even more with the dual mode exhaust.

Default Sick

I think I'm gonna throw up when they release that ls3 block. I just bought a 402 stroker and could have had alot more CI for the same price.

Good job man, he was just testing you...you passed! J/K man, it was a simple typo...should've been 363 rwtq.

Is the LS3 just a bored out LS2? Same intake manifold and heads and everything?

No it is not. It has the L92 based heads and intake.

One of the main reasons for the hp increase. The L92 heads are nice

You can already get the block, it is identical to the L92 truck 6.2L block found in the 403hp 2007 Escalade and Denali.

Same head castings too.

Thanks for the info Lou !! Looks like one hell of a stock motor. Probably make more power with some break in miles. Can't wait to see what the M6 puts down.

Are you sure that thing isn't a diesel?

Same bore as the L92 block which is available now. The LS3 appears to essentially be an L92 engine without DOD.
