C5 Z06 or C6?
I'm not in the market for a new car or anything I was just wondering wich car everybody liked more? I knew the Z was a little faster when I bought my C6 but I just put on some exhaust and a CAI now I run just as fast. I'm very happy with the decision I made. Has anybody bought a Corvette and wished they would have went with a different model? Sometimes I wish I would have picked up a '02 Z and modded it a bit more....then I go to my garage and see my C6 and I feel better.
Sorry...I'm just board at work....kind of a dumb post.

No. I would have still got this C5Z. I like the body style the best. Love the power and handling. The only thing I like about the C6 is the high speed don't need your key to get in or start the car stuff.

I loved my C5 to death but as soon as the C6 came out I instantly wanted one. I just like the choppy lines that it has. After I test drove a C6 my mind was 100% made up....the C5 didnt even appeal to me anymore. The one regret that I have is I wish I would have waited until 2008 to get the LS3. I dont think anybody expected the LS2 to last only 3 years though.

im currently in the same problem i have a 2001 C5 coupe now and i love the glass top and i really dont want to give that up... i don't like the rear window on the C5Z but the power and suspension are remarkable... i've been test drive both cars for the past month... comparing the two i like the comforbility of the cockpit of the C5 better it handles better, the LS6 makes amazing power, along with a great suspension... on the other hand the C6 is an amazing car the technology in the C6 is astonishing, it has a better ride than a cadillac, the LS2 makes good power... as for performance the C6's are running like 12.6 to 12.2 and for the C5Z 12.4 to the lowest i've seen stock with DR's is 11.8.... so it comes down to well for me anyway the price C6's are 38 to 50 depending on the year and the options you want... and right now you and pick up a C5 Z06 anywhere from 30 to 38.... in the end i love my C5 to death its my first corvette and its impressive for what it is... bt i've already owned a C5 body style so i am going with the C6... but no matter what you choice is you wont be dissapointed there both amazing cars.... but if you have the money the new LS3 is out and its hands down the best bang for the buck besides a C6 Z06

only C6 i would buy would be the Z06. I like the styling of the C5 Z06 better than the C6. Never caredtoo much at all for the hatch, but Z06 changed my mind. After I parked my car next to a silver C6 with black rims, I was glad i bought the C5. now that is my opinion, some people love the C6's.

I like the looks of the C5 over those of the C6. Last time I was at Spring Mountain I had the chance to drive a C5 Z back to back with a C6 Z51 coupe. I thought that the C6 had more mid-range power and the C5 Z had better handling.

EXACTLY ~ WHAT HE SAID !
The C5 is a WAY better looking body. I mean , the proportions are just right~front sides & back !
The C6 has that hacked off look from the side & the front just doesn't look like a Corvette to me . Even from the back the lines just don't flow together as smoothly. Gimme an 04 C5 convertible with the C6 engine & interior .

Without the Z51 package the C6 feels like it only has 350hp
You have to wait forever for the rpm to rise in every gear.
My '01 Zo6 (with shorter transmission gearing) is better.
The C6 is an extra $200 per month in payments... plus the C6 has the biggest rearview blindspot I've ever "endured."
If they (Zo6 & BASE C6) were priced the same I'd still get my Zo6. It's the perfect driving machine. And for $25k it's the best bargain out there currently.
I'm keeping my Zo6 until the C7 series comes out. I'm skipping the C6 entirely.

The C5 Z06 is one of my favorite cars ever as far as looks go. I would definitely take a C5Z over a base C6. A C6Z is just way too awesome in every other way to pass up though.
