Default Circle D 3B and EPS baby cam track results

I posted a copy of the time slip in the Dyno section for a Dyno vs ET comparison, but the results really belong over here.

A quick run down of the car: It's my wife's 2000 Camaro SS daily driver. It has all the bolt-ons with the stock 3.23 rear end. We recently took it out to Victoria and had Kurt Decker install a new SDPC LS6 longblock. While it was there we had Patrick G and Geoff A EPS spec out and install a custom baby cam using the new EPS lobes. It's a 222/225 and idles like stock, but pulls like a train.

The drivability is amazing. The new Circle D 3B matches the new low end/mid range power perfectly. The big question was, can a mild set up like this run the numbers?

We headed out to the track on a Friday hoping to beat the rain. The first pass she went a 7.17 1/8 mile with a little wheel hop. I got on the brakes to make sure I didn't get kicked out for not having a cage. The next pass I let her rip. She shook the tires a touch, but pulled hard so I ran her out the back door. I have attached the time slip below. This was on MT 255/60-15 Drag radials and we didn't drop the exhaust, short belt or remove any seats.lol. She has more in her. Yes we did get kicked out.lol

The 3B at our cars power level is right at a 3800 flash stall. It feels like a 2800 rpm stall around town. We knew we would have good low end power and wanted a tight feeling converter for the street and this was the perfect match IMO. I wasn't really worried about high rpm efficiency since we don't plan to spin this engine to high, but the track results proved it to be quite efficient. There is no doubt the car can pull 1.4 60fts in better air and with the car in race mode. We shifted at 6050rpm on 1st-2nd and 6200rpm on the 2nd-3rd. This engine will last forever running it like this.

Isn't redline on a stock ls6 6500 RPM? Why shift it so short?

Edit: Nevermind, I went back and looked at the graph. I no longer question your shift points.

Yes because everyone knows that shifting at redline makes a car faster...

Look at the dyno graph in the dyno section. It drops off pretty hard after 6200ish.

It should ET a little better with a slightly higher shift point, but not enough to justify beating on it like that on a regular basis. The rpms land right at 4900 rpm between shifts which is pretty much an ideal drop (1100-1300). I do plan on taking the car back out when tracks open up and see what the car really has in it. I'm guessing 6400ish to be the sweet spot

Here's the dynograph:

The DA was right at -650 DA and the car was slightly heavier than 3485#s. The car does have a H/D 1" rear anti roll bar and LCA relocation brackets, but it still has the stock K-Member and LCAs and TA.

That's actually a 3200-3400 stall converter too. I still can't believe how fast the car is with such a small cam and small converter. It's great to see a well put together combo. Those 60's for that stall are unbelievable. If I get their 3C I'll be expecting 1.4Xs haha. Did you have skinnies up front?

great results

I'm surprised the graph shows power falling off like that with an LS6.

It does drop out pretty quick, but even at 6400 it's making well over 400rwhp and I'm ok with that especially with the TQ carrying out so well. It's all usable HP/TQ We could have spec'd out a cam that would pull way out to 7000 rpm if we had wanted, but that definitely was not our goal with this car. I think the scale of the RPMs and the dip at 6280 ish is throwing people off.

The 3B has a little more initial torque multiplication , but tapers off a little quicker than the 3C. It sure feels great behind this engine and proved to be quite efficient going down the track.

Honestly, that is pretty amazing. I am now completely rethinking where I want to go with my car haha. I was hoping to run a mid 11 with a more aggressive cam, and higher stalled converter. This might make me rethink my goals, and check out the EPS lobes. They look very promising.

Those are amazing gains, and times! Specially for how small the cam is and untouched heads, going through and automatic! Wow thats just insane. This has caused me to reconsider going with tsp 228r/ 5.3L stage 2.5 h/c combo. Making the same power roughly but with a 6 speed and ported heads and a slightly bigger cam.
