Default Slower trap speed, same E.T., just the air?

Well the first time really out with my T/A on ET streets I ran 11.66 @ 120 hitting the rev limiter in 3rd gear with a 1.75 60ft. Well next time at the track the car went 11.66 again but only trapped 118.8 hitting every gear but cut a 1.70 60ft. I know my 60 can be improved but why the loss in trap speed just the air? Everyone says Bristol is slow. For instance my camaro went 5.60s in 330 there, took it to another track thats only 330ft and it runs 5.20s. Its the PRC 215s, MS4, FAST 102, 4.10s, M6.

Wow something is up there. My car in sig 224r cam and PRC 5.3 heads run a 5.4x 330' with a 1.9x 60'. Maybe the timing system isn't calibrated or something.

Dumb question you aren't getting to the 330' with your front tires lifted are you. I'm gonna say NO.

Could be a combination of things, but I would say the slight drop in mph was caused by the slightly improved sixty foot. It is a little odd the car didn't pick up any e.t. with the improved short time though. Weather could have been a little different than when you ran the car previously which would definitely play a factor. I wouldn't be concerned wait for some good weather to come around see what she can do!

My cam only camaro went 5.20. My T/A runs 4.80s at Bristol. My 11.60 passes when put in a da calculator (ever how they work) show a 11.2 at 123-124.

tyre pressures the same??? clutching at straws i know but in theory the 120mph tyre pressure higher giving worse 60ft but better mph with taller tyre!!!! 118.8 mph run lower pressure better 60ft lower mph same et!!! 1.2mph is nothing to be too concerned about when it,s 3 or 4 then thats something to think about !!!! anyway all good cheers

MPH was lower because you were making less HP (either the tune or higher DA).

ET was the same with less HP because the 60' (traction) was better.

I've been told for every .1 better 60' it would be worth .2-.3 in the 1320.

DA can effect the ET/MPH a lot also.

Bristol is slow, just fyi... It usully runs .1-.3 slower 1\8 mile for some bracket friends i have. I have not had my car to any other tracks yet so cant say from personal expierence, also bristol hardly ever has a descent DA. (usually 2500-3700). I tested a few times during early spring and got a few passes in the 1300-1800 range but if you look at other members on here they have tracks that see negative DA. Bristol also isnt very traction friendly for radial tires. I have 10.5 slicks and 315 radials, takes two completly different shock setups and my car will chirp on radials and dead hook on slicks with the suspension setup for the radials.
