Default 12.9... but i think it should be faster any ideas?

I ran last night and my best 60' was only a 1.9x, and best trap speed was 109. I have a 2002 z28 a4 with stock stall, 4.11 gears, 295/45 18 nt05's, Pacesetter lt's, ory, open 3" cutout, magnaflow CB, lid, front bumper support removed, along with front sway bar. I dropped my tire pressure to 28, 25, 20, 18 lbs and it never seemed to make a difference. From what I have read I have seen some guys with the same mods and stock gears running the same or faster. I put it in 3rd and just let it ride as I was told to do. I just don't know if this is were I should be or what. Any help or insight would be greatly appreciated

Does it have a tune? If so, dyno or canned?

No, at least not that I know of. I bought the car this way. But the previous owner didn't really know what they were doing. And everyone I have talked to that knew the car all have different stories about it. A guy said he use to drove it and dated the girl that use to have it. But he said the drive shaft broke at 160 but didn't cause any damage except to the drove shaft had to be welded in the middle. Which mine has a stock aluminum one so idk. So I don't think it does, would that effect it that bad if it was a trashed tune

I think the tune is off however your MPH is pretty good. I would start with the tune if it were me, that is if the car is 100% mechanically sound with plugs, wires, tranny etc...

For reference - I daily drive an 02 SS A4. It has a generic ory, cutout, lid, tune, chris1313 ac version, DRs and ran a 12.62 at 110 with a 1.94 60ft. So the 12.9 is not bad becasue I don't know your elevation or track DA, just seems to me that with gears and LTs it should be alot faster.

If I were to add gears and headers I would assume my car should run 12.2 or better with stock stall.

You're about right where you should be.

Carter i don't see 12.2 or better with the stock converter unless you have some amazing da and or a lite weight car. Most full bolt on cars are lucky to hit 11s with a nice converter and some weight out.

I can see 12.20's being very possible with some gear and DA under 1000'. My car should be right there next time I get a chance to go out. Full weight

I ran 12.22 at 114 with those mods minus the cut-out and 4.11 gears (had 3.73s). You're going to have to tune that car to get it to run what it should. All those mods are doing little to help you without a good tune.

That is not the norm. Great DA/nice track with a low optioned 01-02 Z28 car, sure... But for the vast majority those times are easy to come by with that few of mods.

No other single mod will make you as happy as a converter as far as ET reduction goes.

PTC.

I consider that amazing... I get lucky to see 1500+DA and I consider that above average. IIRC the best I have ever ran in was roughly 1600, I only run in fall/winter.

It is attainable without a doubt (proof in this thread), but not without one of the two things or both in some cases present.

I'm not expecting low 12's I just want 12.6 with my setup mainly because I feel that's where it should be. I have a buddy with the sameish setup... He has 4.10's full exhaust, but has ported 853's v2 cam and 4200 tc with a ls1 instead of ls6 intake. He is running a 7.7 in the 1/8th are those mods really over a half sec faster in the 1/8th over me?

7.7 is slow for what that setup should be running unless he is running in a below average DA.

I don't know a single reason why I would prefer a 3600 over a 4000.
