Default Finally 10s!

At our local track (MMP in Montgomery, Alabama) today they were having a NHRA event so I decided I would go out and make a few passes during the test and tune session on a very well prepped track and good weather conditions. The DA was -200 to -300. I am glad I did! I finally got into the 10s with my mild setup.

The first run was an 11.06 @ 121.35 on a 1.53 60ft. This was a new best so I was pumped but it was still not a 10.

On the next pass I lowered the air bag to 15psi and raised the rear tires to 15psi. and ran my first 10s pass.

60----1.51
1/8----6.97
MPH—97.61
¼-------10.99
MPH---122.28

I backed that pass up with the following runs. Yes more than one 10s pass!

60----1.50
1/8----6.95
MPH—97.49
¼-------10.98
MPH---121.76

And

60----1.50
1/8----6.97
MPH—97.84
¼-------10.98
MPH---122.46

Overall it was a great day at the track. Not to bad for a TR224/114cam, TEA stage 1.5 heads, and a TCI 4000 converter!

Yet another example of how you don't need a big nasty undrivable cam to run 10s. Congrats!

Thanks guys. It’s been a long time coming.
The hunt for the 10s was great. In fact now that the excitement of attaining the goal has worn off it seems like the hunt was better than the actual kill.

Time to set a new ET goal!

thats what sucks... once you get your goal, then your kinda like hmmmmmm, what now? lol

i just wanna slap the nittos on this spring and have fun.. everyone's to fast for me, so i just want to enjoy the car down the track and street these days

glad to see those tea's doing the job.. Larry got a 10.90 outta his car, but due to a hole coming in the header he didnt get any of the really good sub 0 DA Car probably had some 10.7's but definitly 10.8's in it with the 224 cam in good DA

btw, you wonder what you mighta ran with LT's on the car?? maybe 10.88's :-P

Thanks guys.

Phil – You are right but I still want that 1.49 60’

Scott – I wanted that 10-second slip really bad. I need to gun for 11.8x now. I just do not think my combo as it sits can run that number. I am not going to hull the car out to save weight and going to 4.10:1 gears is not an option. I am going to have to get a better 60’.

I need to do some suspension work.
