Default First time drag

I took my stock 2000 SS to the track for the first time and had mixed results. My first run I pulled a 2.5 60' and messed up bad giving me an all time worst of 14.5 and the very next run do a 2.3 60' and a 13.6 which became my best time. Then ran 2 consecutive 13.8 I could not do anything to get my 60' under 2.2. I was so mad that everything I tried would not work. so I don't know I will give it another shot once I get some more mods. M last run I was dead even with some mustang and then I miss a shift and he runs a 12.98 so thats my luck and my 60' on the run was 2.2 and by the looks of it would have definately been my best run.

Not bad, my friend ran about the same w/ his 2000 SS M6 when he bought it. 13.60's @ 106 was his best, 13.80's was avg., and I think he ran a few low 14's with it his first time ever at the track with it.

After lots of practice and a few mods he dropped to 12.90's @ 110.5 - so it is possible. His only mods were: MAF ends, Z06 clutch kit, !cats, cut out, & the little free mods like trimming the EGR tube and cutting out the bottom of the air box. Lid & SLP LT's put him at the same 12.90's, but at almost 113 MPH... car didn't hook so well on street radials after the LT install.

Good luck and happy modding!

Good lord, when I read this the first time, I read S2000 instead of 2000 SS! I was wondering why a S2000 was posting! Not to bad of times though for a stock car, and first time out. Just keep practicing.
