Definitely not enough. You need to get into 10's to be close to a gsxr 1000 with a good driver on it.

Depends on driver,my newbie bike friend ran only 12.3-12.5 @ 120-123 mph. There were 2 other bikes there also not sure if stock but one ran 11.7 and the other one 10.7This is at high altitude so drop .4-.5 seconds. So bad driver high elevens.Good driver high tens to compete.I ran a 12.6 @ that track with 3500 stall ,catback and lid,et streets and a 100 shot, and ran a best of 12.1 @ a more sea level track. So its all about the driver

Any of the gsxr1000s built after 01 should be low 10s around 140+ mph, you won't even be close. Only way to win is if the guy can't ride at all.

yeah, I know its not a 01 or anything but I just sold my 05 gsxr1000 and it is rated as a 9 second bike, but with a good driver should be 10's.. 9's are probable a pro rider..

You'd better double your power output before running that bike. He's going to
destroy you.

well duh, that bike weighs what? 500-650lbs dry? Most cars have no chance against most bikes.

I don't know about that. I'd say he'd be pushing 550rwhp on the juice with the heads/cam/bolt-ons. 1100rwhp is quite a bit. More than enough to run low 9's. A good bit faster than a gsxr1000. Anyhow I'm sure you were being somewhat sarcastic with that response. You have no chance dude. Unless you take out all kinds of weight and throw some slicks on it.

Who said anything about 1100rwhp. You think he's making 550rwhp?
800rwhp is plenty to run down that bike.

Good luck with your race, but i hope your not counting on beating a GSXR 1000 through the 1/4, MAYBE ,MAYBE you will do real good in the 1/8th with a sub 1.5 60ft.

My old bike 02 R1 weighed 620 with me on it and 1/2 tank of gas ,rated at 150 horse and trapping over 135 in the 1/4 without a PRO rider.

I think your only chance to win a race with a bike that big with your current set-up is a real short race. You will not have the mph to even be close on the big end.

Good Luck.

Dave

I don't think it will be a slaughter if you have everything set up right and are wearing stickies. If you run a 100shot (rated at the wheels) on top of those mods, you should be around 560ish rwhp. If the bike's owner is average and doesn't get a great launch, you could keep it respectable, but you'll still lose.

I have an 02.

First time out on the bike it went 11.2, by the end of the night I had it down to 10.8. that's with like ZERO exp. needless to say it was even faster by the end of the season(mainly was just riding it better). Also weighted the bike, it was only 360 wet(not sure how well the scale really is there..)

So good luck with that...

It will go low 10's/high 9's all day with a good rider....

oh, and if the bike is lowered, streched, gear, pipe or has power commander, it will be goining even faster...

I've heard of guys running very low 9's with just basic stuff done to the bike...

this is going to be a 60-120 race. i know from a dead stop i will get killed, but from a roll. that is what the guy on the bike wants to do. still think it will be a slughter house? thanks for all the imput, but i should have described the race a little more. from what i have seen, a 575rwhp cobra can out run this bike so i thought maybe i would not have that bad of shot.

Yep, depends on driver. I raced a bad one, (I think the bike was an R1... but still 1000 cc's?), and I beat it in the quarter, by 0.06. I think it was 12.27 to 12.33.

Then my buddy with an 11 second talon beat another crotch rocket on I-10 headed home. Pretty fun night for us...

And why couldn't this guys car go bottom 10's w/ a h/c/spray'd ls1? With just a small cam and a 100 shot I went 10.4's @ almost 130! So if that bike runs low 10's, if redhotz can get the car to hook up and run a good number, I think it'll be a good race!

actually from a dead stop you stand a better chance..from a roll he will kill you especially at the speeds you are talking about
