Default well, time for the first run at the track

I was just wondering what you guys think i should expect Sunday when i head up to Route 66 in Joliet, Illinois? Mods are in sig. My dyno numbers are also before Longtubes, Duals, Underdrive pulley, or Mounts. It will probably be about 70 degrees this weekend too. I just want to be solidly in the 13's, that's really all im hoping for. I have never been to the track before, but i also have an auto, so just as long as i can get my launch right, it's kind of up to the car for the rest of the run. Thanks!

I wouldn't be suprised if you suprised yourself and hit high 12's.

If you don't hit 12s, take driving lessons.

The couple times I've been to Rt. 66 it was pretty sticky. =) They are pretty strict on tech though, so you might get booted if you do hit 12's. I think you need a DS loop for that, but I'm sure someone else will chime in.

I would be really happy to hit a high 12, even if it's a 12.99 lol. I just dont want to expect too much because everyone always says they were hoping for a low number but never get it and then they are disappointed

Oh, another question. How would you launch the car being as its an automatic? Which way hits harder, holding the brakes and loading the rear end or just stabbing the gas?

I'd give it a try both ways and see what works best for you. Personally, I'd load it up and then roll on the gas as quickly as possible without lighting up the rears.

I used to race at that track so I can tell you from my experience that mashing the gas off idle worked best for me (2.0 60' on stock converter if the track prep was good). I would think you should be able to hit 12.8-13.1 if the weather isn't bad. Get a converter and drag radials and you'll be mid to low 12's all day long.

Good luck and come back and let us know how you did.

Alright, well I finally got some numbers and I don't think they were too bad. I ended up going 12.934 @ 107.94MPH with a 1.9 60' I was on street tires. What do you guys think? Is that about where I should be. My 60' kind of sucks i think, but with a set of slicks on the rear I think I might be able to pull a mid 12, what do you guys think? And with a 4K StallTorque Converter could I hit 11's?

Very nice! That is right where you should be and a 1.9 60' is actually fantastic for street tires. A 4000 stall with sticky tires (even drag radials would suffice) and you'll see mid to lower 12's all day long. 11's would be asking a bit much. But with a ported TB, ls6 intake and or a little weight reduction you'll get there.

But just a 3500-4000 stall and drag radials should get you to the 12.3-12.5 range easily so I would make that my next mods. Grats on the 12's and good luck with your car.
