Default Avg 383 times?

I am looking forward to getting my 383 together and just wondering what kind of times you guys were seeing. Guess it's gonna be time for some slicks.

I hope so if there are some 346 cars running those numbers. I am going with some etp 225 heads so that should make that a little easier.

Yeah there are quite a few variables to consider.

My 383 ran 10.6s @ 124.5mph. We weighed close to 3520#s in decent air.

I decided to go with a 374. Pistons, rods, crank, heads, etc are on the way. I just liked the piston choices better with that stroke. This baby should still scream though, shooting for 10.8's or better on motor.

That's damn good, what did a full slip look like? 60 ft.? 1/8? etc. How about details on the combintaion? Cam? Stall? etc. I went stock cubes on my motor rebuild, but I always am curious about 382/383 results. They seem to be a road less traveled for some reason.

That was with ET 5.3 street/strip heads, 244/244 114 and a yank PT4200 stall w/3.73 gears. That was at a little over 3520#s and a 28" Hoosier drag slick. The 60fts were 1.42-1.44s.

I have bigger goals for the new 408 with the same heads. I should have results pretty soon.

Awesome, your 408 should be bottom 10's with ease.

with good heads and cam mid 10's shouldn't be a problem. you should be able to cut mid 1.4X 60's without too much problem

That's what I'm hoping for and some 9.xx on the spray. Should be pretty fun. The car ran 6.9x in the 1/8 before with a 1.59 60'. That was just with a 100 shot. So with more hp and tq on tap maybe she'll get down under that just on motor.
