Thumbs up A few LS1 racer's get coverage in FSC this month!

Seems a few of our fellow members got some ink in Fastest Street Car magazine's July issue. I know Devon has been talking about this for a while now, so maybe he'll finally keep his car clean!

Link to my post with all the names of those featured: https://ls1tech.com/forums/automotive-news-media-press/518509-fastest-street-car-mag-july-2006-quite-few-ls-based-cars.html

Congrats to all, especially Devon, Paula and Eric!

Derek

David,

If there is an event close to you, I'd look into going and maybe running a class, that up the chances! I'll put in a good word..

Steve Wells on page 106 (The Crew Chief for Red Sled Racing) lurks on this forum.

There are 2 threads about the article @ the Corvette Forum.

Nice spread, 5 color pages in a hardcore drag mag. one of the best.

Congrats to all in the issue.

Does the mag have a website too? I wouldn't mind getting subscription.

Well, i'm still havin issues with the car goin left, gonna try and get a spool in there before I go back on the 18th. Got one halfway decent run, the first 3 I had to let out from goin left during wheelie, last run I spun and didn't pull 'em that high, so I stayed in it even though it was goin left and went 1.38 60' with a 9.67 @ 139.92 and I felt her dyin out (runnin out of nitrous, ugh. Got back and held the purge and almost nothing was coming out). The standalone worked ******* amazing, no burned plugs, and the car on the first 3 runs was moving the **** out on the top end after I got back in it after lettin out of the wheelies. She's running pig rich though, O2's were over 1000!! Waitin to grab a wideband and then gonna try and get her tuned in perfect, and hopefully the spool gets her goin straight, if not it might be time to put some money together and drop the car off at Madman's since he's now in Louisiana instead of texas and a lot closer!

I'm guessing you didn't mean to offend anybody, but we have a local Florida girl in there that clips off 9's while draggin the bumper on radials in her DAILY DRIVER. You might want to go back and edit that post

Done.

No, certainly not trying to offend anybody at all.

I know this Z28, and it could pass for stone stock except the idle would give it away. A/C and everything.

I don't know how Daily Driver that 9 second car is, but it must have a roll bar?
The Crew Chief's has no bar in it. It is a total street car to the Max.

To quote the article it says... "This car seems to have been made just for this article"
Just trying to give credit where credit is due. I don't care either way.

I am impressed with every car in the article.

Thanks for the update Devon, we got rain here all day.

I'd take either street car in the mag, but guess I'll settle for my 10 second ride for now

I responded to all PMs on issues!

Paula just scanned a copy and sent it to me, i'm kind of disappointed, he didn't make any of the changes I asked him to make that he said he would, but oh well, no biggie I guess!

can be hard once you figure in print delay time and such, bummer though

Most articles I write don't see issues for 2-4 months.

Yeah, well I told him well in advance, as soon as he showed me what the article looked like before it was turned in and he said he'd make the changes when he got back from the NMCA event at bradenton that weekend, but like I said, no biggie I guess, it's just cool as **** to have the car in a mag!!!!
