Default Guess who'll win:

Today is the day for the office grudge match. I'll be running Larry's '94 'vette at the Huntsville Dragway. It's an 1/8th mile track and it's usually prepped pretty well.

Larry's car is a '94 'vette with a recently rebuilt LT1 and an auto tranny. He's ported the heads himself, put the hot cam in it, and he's got long tube headers. On the chassis dyno he put 300 to the wheels. He'll be running on street tires.

My car is an automatic '02 WS6. I've put a lid and a cat-back on it. On the same chassis dyno, I put 317 to the wheels. This will my first trip to the track with my ET Street Radials. 8.6@84 is the best I've done at Huntsville with my street tires.

Who do you think is going to win, and by how much? I'll come back and post results either late tonight or tomorrow. People with the correct predictions can pat themselves on the back.

Just make sure you heat htose radials up good, and plan on launching alot harder then you normally do, as the tires are gonna hold it alot better.

I'd advise you take a pratice run before you actually race, as the tires are gonna meka a big differnence. What was your 60 foot when you ran the 8.6@84? I'm guessing you should be able to cut at least .2 off that alone with those tires vs a regular radial. On the same day same track I'd guess those tires hsould be about .3 faster in the 1.8th then you are with the stret tires.

94 vette's are heavier then c5's by alot, your mods would be able to beat a stock C5 I'd think, and they were alot quicker then the lt2 vettes were.

Good luck!

It was a 2.0xx 60'. I'm hoping that I can cut a 1.8xx 60' with the new tires.

Because it's only 1/8 track, as stated it will be battle of 60'. With DRs, I think you'll win by 2 tenths or so.

Without knowing how good of a driver you are and how well his heads were worked, I'd say your car should win by a half car.

If all else fails, do the honk trick and make him redlight.

I'd say that you're gonna pick up a good .2 in the 60 foot.. that shoudl be about .3 in the 1/8th. Just post results when you're done.

the LS1 will be draggin that vette w/o a doubt, but since it is the 1/8 your '60 ft is truly gonna be the deciding factor, but if hes on street tires then it'll be no contest...

Your car should out pull him, look for a better MPH.
The winner will be who ever cuts the best light and can hook.

We only got one run in before the rains came. It must have been nearly eleventy-billion degrees (well, nearly 100F) on the track. Even with the new tires, I was off my best time by about two tenths and a few mph. It was enough, however, to defeat the prattman.

Left ---------------- Right
.4520 --- Reaction - .0736
2.1899 -- 60 FT ---- 2.0619
6.4967 -- 330 FT --- 5.8357
9.7830 -- 660 FT --- 8.8549
77.91 --- MPH ------ 82.45

It was a race between drivers not the cars. Cars are fairly close to being equal....Better driver prevails!!!!
