Default 2001 Z28 M6 - Stock

Just ran this past saturday... I have my slips in hand but I will get a scanned one up tonight.

13.4 @ 104mph (2.1 60ft)... 3200DA

The MFBA rented out Cordova Dragway in Cordova, IL and I got a few passes in earlier that morning (13.5 @ 105mph with 2.1 60ft a few times and a 13.5 @ 95mph on a 2.1 60ft after missing 4th gear at the end of the track and coasting)

Was waaay to hot so I am hoping to get out there again on a cool night and run. Actual temp was 93F (109F heat index) and I was told the temp on the track was 125F. Can't believe I was actually able to spin 2nd gear even...

Nice times for the heat.

Have you considered leaving it in 3rd going through the traps?

According to the gear calculator:
completely stock 3.42 25.6(stock tire size)
RPM 1st 2nd 3rd
5800 49 73 100 129 175 259
5900 50 74 101 132 178 263
6000 50 75 103 134 181 268
6100 51 76 105 136 184 272
6200 52 78 106 138 187 277 ****stock rev limiter*****
6300 53 79 108 141 190 281

Should be able to stay in 3rd, according to this. I going to give it a try when I take my stock z28 to the track.

I actually tried that the first time I ran the car and hit the limiter before the end... I stil managed a 13.5 @ 105mph so I am not sure if that helped or hurt.. I think I am shifting out just before the traps..so maybe I am getting out of the gear just a little bit too early. Since most of my traps were 105mph it looks like I would be flirting with the limiter trying it... Hmmm

I was having the same issue at Cordova last Saturday. Sometimes it'd bounce off the limiter in 3rd, sometimes I'd have a good 500 rpm in 4th before I hit the finish beams.

Yeah I'm not sure if I was just in it way to long or if I just have no idea what I am doing....but 3rd gear seemed to come and go before I hit the trap beams...

I'm thinking of bumping the rev limiter up 100rpm in 3rd when I go to the track to try this. Maybe I'm all screwy but I think it would save more time for 1 less shift.
I'll try it both ways when ever I make it to the track this fall.

Well, like i posted:
stock tire, stock gear.
Using the gear calculator on this site: http://www.f-body.org/gears/
rpm 1st 2nd 3rd
5800 49 73 100 129 175 259
5900 50 74 101 132 178 263
6000 50 75 103 134 181 268
6100 51 76 105 136 184 272
6200 52 78 106 138 187 277 ****stock rev limiter*****
6300 53 79 108 141 190 281

Your slip says 104.74 which according to this is still third gear.

My last camaro, 01 ss 6 speed.
with just an air lid and pro 5.0: My best run was a 13.50 @ 106.89.

When I take my z28 to the track I'll run it with the stock rev limiter and depending on if I hit the rev limiter or not I might raise it 125rpm in 3rd.
We'll see. I will make a post, I'm waiting for good air in late october.

Yeah I think after I hit the limiter on my one run I just started short shifting out of the gears Will have to try and stretch them a little more.

Ditto on the cool air!! 3200DA but we are onlyl 600ft above sea level... the cool air should get me some decent times.

Here is a slip from earlier in the day...
