i had a set on the front of my car and it wasnt a huge noticable difference in et in the 1/8th dont know about the 1/4 considering they are not all that light weight as opposed to the weld wheels i didnt have to run a spacer with the summit wheel. and they use the conical 1.5 x 12mm lug nut, i have a set of 15x3.5 weld draglite skinnys for sale thats on my formula now, will sell spacers and lug nuts with no tires for 225 plus shipping center caps included they are not curbed up or anythng they could just use a cleaning the car has been sitting in the drive way and we have had tons of rain up here, im located in east tenn. if interested

1.75" backspacing on the 15X4. Lug size as stated before, as far as improvement every car seems to be different. Mine picked up some but I did other things as well so I can't say it was the wheels and tires.

I picked up 2 tenths with my Weld wheels, but if you buy Summit ones you wont pick up near that much. Those bitches are HEAVY.

The Summit and Jegs wheels are nearly the same weight as Welds! If they're not it's by only a pound or so a wheel, I don't see why people think they're so much more weight? They're both alunimum with the Weld being a 2 piece and the Summit/Jegs 1 piece. The only thing I can think of that would make the Weld lighter is the physical size 3.5" vs. 4" Summit/Jegs. Either wheel will be much lighter than you 16X8!

i agree 100 % !! plus you can't beat the cost of those summit stars. $80.00 each is one hell of a deal. be honest with what you have in your pocket.

You're smoking rocks. We weighed them on our Nitrous scale at work. 15x4 Summit Star was 3.1lbs HEAVIER than a 15x3.5 Weld Draglite. Every 1 static pound of weight is 3 pounds of rotating mass. When converted to rotating mass each wheel is 9.3 lbs heavier than a Weld wheel, combined totalling 18.6 lbs. So yeah, 20 pound diffference, isn't much is it?

I'm not going to get into a mathmatical argument because I suck at math and even if you expalined how you got the numbers you just threw out I probably wouldn't understand. The OP asked what backspacing and lug size he needed, he got the anwser and our opinions on brands. I'll buy the 15X3.5 is somewhat lighter than the larger wheel. I don't understand how you figure forward rotating mass on a centered, balanced axis (wheel spinning on car) is making the wheel heavier (gravity wise), you expalined rotating mass as we would look at it in terms of a rotating engine assembly. What rpm did you use to figure this rotating weight, wouldn't the weight increase with rpm? i.e. the faster it spins the heavier it seems but only to the center axis, the physical weight does not change If you would like to expalin I'll try to understand.

P.S. FWIW I don't smoke anything, it's an expensive unhealthy habbit!
